Max Verstappen

My girlfriend. Lucia Quinn. Like every weekend, waved as I drove past the McLaren pit wall on our first round of pit stops.

Smiling to myself in the helmet, I waved back and then regained my focus back to the team as I pulled into the pit box. Within 2.5 seconds, my tires were changed and I sped out the box to rejoin in the pit lane and then get back out there.

"Max you are in P3. P3. Norris is 12 seconds in front but has not pitted" Jason, my new engineer radioed "Understood" I replied with gritted teeth.

Lando Norris. The man I've become incredibly jealous of over the past 7 months, all because he gets to hear my girlfriends voice flood his ears during the race weekends.

Pushing the thoughts to the back of my mind, I pressed on the accelerator allowing my to start gaining on the McLaren. "This is great pace Max. Striking distance should be in 4 laps" Jason said "Okay understood" I replied, eager to get my Red Bull in front of the McLaren. If there was going to be anyone Lucia was going to smile up at on the podium, it was me. NO ONE ELSE.

Closing the gap to Norris, I could now see his McLaren in front of me as I gained on the straights. Watching the McLaren take the entrance for the pit lane a smile grew on my face, too easy. As my position was updated, I was now P2 and chasing down the Ferrari belonging to Carlos Sainz.

Battling it out to the last corner, Sainz put up a good fight, however on the 3rd corner of the 70th lap I took the inside line, breaking later than the Ferrari, scoring my the P1 spot.

Defending for the remaining 2 laps, I crossed the line P1. "Well done Max, that's P1!" My racing engineer beamed "Let's fucking gooo!!" I cheered, and waved to my home fans as I passed the grand stands, air filling with orange smoke.

Parking my car in the P1 spot. I jumped out the car and into the front where I could stand and wave to the fans in the opposite grand stand.

Jumping down, I saw my team to the left, however Lucia was standing front and centre in front of me. As her smile beamed at me, my eyes lit up and my feet strided in her direction before the barrier stopped me and I wrapped my arms round her. "Well done my love! Another home win!" Lucia lifted my visor so she could see me "Always for you Liefde, I love you" I replied as my helmet rested against her forehead "I love you too" Lucia giggled "I'll see you after the podium" I continued and Lucia nodded before I left her to celebrate with the team.
