"Now that I've met your parents, don't you think it's time for you to meet mine?" Domenic asks, while tracing random shapes with his finger along my skin.

I turn my head towards him raising an eyebrow.

"Your mother wanted nothing to do with me the first time we met." I remind him, and he shakes his head.

"Why would I go see her again?"

He chuckles, as if I said something funny.

"Because you haven't met my father, he's an easier person." he offered, but I couldn't help but harbor doubts.

"Much nicer, as well." he added.

I responded with a deadpan expression, locking eyes with him until he caved in and groaned with frustration. "Oh, come on, Abidemi."

"It's nothing bad I just want you to meet them."

I sigh, understanding why he wants me to meet them and how it'd be fair for me to have dinner with them such as he's done with my family but... my family isn't as 'scary' as his.

And by scary I mean my mother isn't secretly rooting for me to get back with a toxic ex, and though I haven't met his father I've got a feeling deep down that we wouldn't get along great.

Nothing much but a hunch, but who knows I could be wrong.

"Can't we just send an email or something?" I joke, adjusting myself in bed, so I was sitting up o my elbows.

"Seriously."

I don't answer, and let the silence be the answer, smiling at him.

He sighs, a sad expression starting to fill his face as she shook his head at me. "What would be so bad about having a nice dinner with them?" Domenic asks.

"Because your mom would probably say something rude and be hateful towards me." I say truthfully.

"She isn't going to say anything while I'm there."

I raise an eyebrow, chuckling. "Why do I have a feeling that you're not going to be there for long?" I say with my head tilted.

"I'll be by your side throughout the whole of dinner." He shifts closer to me on the bed, leaning his head onto my lap.

"If we even have dinner," I interjected playfully, and he furrowed his brows in annoyance.

I couldn't help but laugh at his reaction and planted a kiss on his cheek. "Fine, we'll have dinner."

"Besides, it wouldn't be fair of me not to have the dinner."

"But I don't want to have dinner with Grandma and Grandpa." Skye whines, stomping her foot on the ground like a toddler.

I chuckle, pushing through different clothes, trying to find the right outfit for her to wear.
