As Klaus Promised, he let Athena drive for five whole minutes, probably ten if she asked nicely, but she didn't. Five had his hand on the wheel the whole time, just in case.
But after she almost lost control and sent them into a tree, he forced Klaus and her to switch "This actually isn't so terrible." Five rested his arm on the chair, Athena's head next to it

"See? Told you"

He stared out the window, letting the thoughts that came to his head out of his mouth, instead of keeping them to himself or telling Attie  "Come to think of it, my whole life I've been under the gun. Missions for Dad, working for the Commission, trying to survive the apocalypse. I was always looking around every corner, just waiting for the other shoe to drop. It's nice to just breathe."

Klaus looked at his brother wholeheartedly "Good for you, man. Retirement is suiting you" his eyes flickered to the girl in the middle "What about you Attie? You haven't been this quiet since..ever"

She smiled lightly, not opening her eyes "its just i feel..nice..calm its weird"

Five took out a paper from the glove box, excitedly turning to them "Oh! Uh... All right! So, I've circled all the roadside attractions along the way."

" I'm not sure we're gonna have time..."
"We have the Brownsville Big Nickel. Oh, Ricky's Bakery has award-winning pies."

She opened her eyes, leaning forward on FIves shoulder "ooh i wanna go there" she pointed to a zoo circled on the map

"If you just let me explain..."
"Or there's this Cow Henge."

"Listen to me. Just shut up for two seconds, okay? Just two seconds? All right?"

The two turned to klaus "Okay, I'm all ears" he said, putting the map down and turning to him

Klaus looked around nervously, wondering if it was the best idea to do this with two trained assassins "We are going to Pennsylvania to find my birth mother. Yay!"

She smacked Klaus on the back of his head " Excuse me?"

"I'm sorry, okay? I'm sorry. I just needed somebody to come with me for emotional support" he nodded, no longer caring about keeping his eyes on the road

Five looked around in disbelief "Oh, emotional support, like a Schnauzer?"

"I knew you wouldn't come if I told you, so what was I supposed to do?"

"You're goddamn right I wouldn't have come, Klaus. You know why? Because we are supposed to be retired! This was supposed to be a carefree road trip."

"Ay ay ay" she tutted, looking out of the window

"Well, it still can be, babe"

She squinted her eyes at an upcoming sign on the road "Ball of Twine?" she muttered

She grabbed the twos shoulders excitedly "Klaus, turn! Ball of Twine! Turn!" they grabbed onto the wheel, forcing Klaus to turn the car

"What? Five! Five!"

"It is one of the best ones! Come on!" she jumped into the front seats, ignoring the car they almost crashed into

"guys,we're gonna die!"

"I don't care"
"It doesn't matter!"

"You know what? No twine, no birth mother!" Five yelled as they sped down the street

The three arrived at the ball of twine, Klaus amazed at the fact they didn't die, they walked hand in hand while Klaus grinned smugly, his eyes flashing over to the two every once in a while
