"Trixie waffle!"

The fire fox bounded in circles around the camp fire making Anne giggle and attempt to chase after her.

I was sitting in a low branch of a nearby maple tree, eating a bowl of berry stew Red had made. It want to bad to be honest. Almost as good as nachos, almost.

Red was leaning against the same tree's trunk as the tree I was sitting in watching Anne run around the campfire. Silver had grumbled off somewhere leaving me alone with Red and Anne.

The sun had long ago set leaving it up to the brightly burning fire to light the small clearing we were camped in. Above us stars gleamed brightly as the moon traveled higher and higher in the sky. The sounds of nocturnal Pokemon drifted through the air, the cooing of bird Pokemon and the howls of the more wolffish ones filled the night with their soothing sounds.

Anne had finally caught Trixie and was brushing her fur with a brush I carried around for my Pokemon. Trixie looked as if she was enjoying the feeling if the brush being drawn through her fur over and over again.

I smiled at the sight of both of them enjoying themselves.

"Hey Emma?" Red's voice dragged me from my daze.

"Yeah?" I answered, looking from Anne to my boyfriend.

"Why were you anxious to help Anne? Normally you prefer to keep to yourself rather then go out of your way to help people you don't know..."

I shrugged. "Normally I wouldn't... it's just that..." I paused slightly and watched as Anne pulled a ribbon from her pocket and tied it around Trixie's ear.

"Abuse is something I can't stand, especially after having experienced it myself. Look how I turned out after what I had to endure, I'm not the nicest person around and defiantly done my fair share of sins. I've lost most my childhood to a selfish individual and because of it I turned out the way I am now and honestly sometimes I'm not very proud of the person I now am. Anne still has her childhood innocences, what I lost when I was her age, so I felt it was the right thing to do to try and help get somewhere safer. No one should have to go through what we both went though."

Red nodded as Anne ran over to us, holding Trixie proudly in the air.

"I look pwitty!" Trixie giggled.

Anne looked up at me hopefully, as if expecting some form of praise for her work. Grey-blue eyes shining in the light if the fire. Her red scarf she had wrapped around her neck fluttered slightly in the wind as an eerie silence fell over the forest.

I looked up to the sky, mumbling that Anne had done a good job. She let out a squeal of delight before going back to my sleeping bag laying on the ground and sitting on it with Trixie on her lap.

"Is it just me or is it to quiet?" I frowned.

Red shook his head. "It has been a bit quiet..."

I pulled up my X-transceiver and sent Silver a text asking where he was and to hurry. I had a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach.

"Hey Night?"

Sup?

"Can you feel anything odd or is it just me?"

Other then the fact you're traveling with a complete stranger nothing feels out of the ordinary on my end. Paranoia?

"Probably..."

I shook my head slightly, trying to clear it. Night, even though confined to my own head, could still sense things that I might not have been able to. It could get annoying but it had also been helpful to, I guess.
