Sunday

It was now Sunday, the day of my first date, and I was genuinely excited.

I was awake from like 5am this morning, which is rare for I usually sleep close to, or after noon

"From morning uh just a bubble like when uh cover dumpling pot so." Said Athena as she came into my room as I did my hair.

I was doing a simple pony, for a pony tail has never failed

"I'm going on a date." I said to Athena, and she gasped.

"A lie! Uh find new man!? Full time now." She said, and I rolled my eyes.

"No idiboo. A Damon."

"Oh." Was all she said before sitting on my bed, and I could see her looking at me through my vanity mirror.

"Oh what?"

"Ntn. This just unexpected. A you beg him or him suggest it?" She asked and I scoffed.

"Okay, fist of all I didn't beg. I just suggested it."

"Same thing." She shrugged before getting up to go look through my closet.

"This can fit uh? No? Mi want it. Thanks." She said all in one breath not even giving me a chance to answer.

"Athena mommy basically buy us the same things when she a buy clothes, and when me a buy clothes online mi buy two of each, so lowe me sumn alone, and come outta mi closet."

"But yours always look better." She pouts, and I rolled my eyes.

"Mi done talk."

"Fine, but mi wah borrow dah shoes yah fi gah Christmas fete." She said taking my white Airforce, and I shrugged, for I didn't too care for shoes caz I was barefoot most of the times anyways.

Bare feet just felt better.

"Gwan wid it, and come out."

"Thank you:" she said grinning as she left.

Finally.

Some peace and quiet.

I smiled at my reflection in the mirror caz one gyal cah nice so.

I tried my best to ignore this nagging feeling that I had, for I'd don't want any pessimistic thinking to ruin my evening,

"You look beautiful." Said my dad as I gave him a twirl after I was done getting ready.

"Thank you."

I was grinning from ear to ear caz come on.

Who wouldn't?

"You have enough money?" Asked my dad, and I nodded showing him my card, but then he quickly grabbed it from my hand.

"Daddy is weh yah do dat fah? Mi need mi get vex or me 'I see it, I like it, I want it, I got it' money."

"Tek dis one." He said handing me his NCB debit Visa card.

"So wah yah try seh, yave more money Dan me?" I asked taking it and putting it in my purse nevertheless.

"No, but just incase an anything mi wah uh spend my money not yours." He said and I smiled.

Hey mi love mi father enuh.

"Alright thanks." I said putting on my heels as I handed Athena my phone to take me some pictures.

"Stop wull the phone side way like me body bend up nuh!" I said out of frustration.

"But the picture dem look betta when me do it so."

"Gimme mi phone." I said kissing my teeth and grabbing my phone.
