He didn't know when he started to get antsy when she wasn't around.

Just itching to hug her, touch her, or simply to be around her. It might have started when they were dating a couple months back but it had never been this extreme before.

Kai was passing by the living room when he noticed the blond leader reading a comic while fidgeting his leg. A lot. He knew that Lloyd got jittery when nervous but at the rate the young master was going, he almost got afraid that his leg would detach. With a raised brow, that had a slight scar through it, he was intrigued. "Y'okay there buddy?" He asked with a softer tone that he reserved for the boy who he treated as his younger brother.

There was only a nod and a sound of the page being flipped. No other movement coming from Lloyd other than his leg bouncing.

"Lloyd...?" Kai pressed, leaning on the doorframe with his arms crossed. "What's bothering you?" Silence unfolded between them. Moments passed and for Lloyd, it seemed like he was reading the same page over and over again. The same comic line continuously. The colours blended behind and the words got blurry. He didn't know what characters were in the panel and what was being said. His mind was not in the present and that bothered him. All he knew was that Kai was at the entrance and Y/n wasn't beside him.

The comic got closed and another beat passed.

"Kai?"

"Yeah." The fire ninja answered, ignoring the fact that Lloyd didn't answer his question.

"When you and Skylor are not together for long periods of time, do you guys ever...or at least you...just think about her?" He asked and before Kai can process the question, Lloyd added, "All the time."

It was almost like a pull he had to her. Just a yearn for her touch or even her presence.

"All the time?" The blond nodded. "Is this is what's happening to you?" Slower, he nodded again. Then it clicked. Kai made a whistle sound from his mouth as he kicks the air, knowing what Lloyd was going to say next was heavy.

"I don't know...I didn't really think about how it would be with Y/n going to university and the limited time we spend together. I just miss her." The sigh that released out of him was one Kai knew a little too well. He felt this way towards Skylor especially during their situationship phase very early into their relationship.
Of course being a ninja distracted him of it but it was when he had nothing else to think about, Skylor was always where his mind went to. Just wanting to be with her but their lives were so vastly different that it wasn't possible for them to be together a lot.
It only changed when he did one thing, and he believed that it would help the young boy.

"Have you told her this?" Kai asked interrupting his rant. The silence sat there before Lloyd's voice punched through. Only a sigh as a loss for words and then he shook his head. "Maybe telling her this can help you. Maybe help her even. Who knows? She may be having the same thoughts." That was when the leader shook his head even more, as if he was trying to get lice out of his hair.

"No way! She's going to think I'm a creep. We've only been dating since the summer!" For reference, it was early October and they had gotten together in mid-July.

"So? I met Skylor during an intense week-long elemental battle against her evil dad, and even amidst the chaos, I couldn't stop thinking about her. Only thing that could've solved my issue then was if I told her," Kai admitted humbly, voice going softer as he spoke. He didn't hold on to regrets much as he thought they wasted his time but he did sometimes wish to go back in time and fix some of his mistakes. Maybe it was meant to be so that he could let Lloyd know not to do what he did. Bottle all of it and hope it would go away overtime.

"So, you really think talking to her will help?" Lloyd slowly gave in to Kai's suggestion even after being warned by the team to never take Kai's advice for anything. But the red ninja was the green ninja's unofficial brother, it was normal to go to 'older siblings' about things that they were going through. The red ninja nodded, affirmative in his actions. He was very confident about his answer. Honestly, when was he not confident about his answer. Whether they be very right or very wrong. The green ninja took the risk and decided to take the advice.

Without checking if she was available, Lloyd dialed her number and immediately the phone got picked up.

"Hey," Lloyd said, his voice a bit lighter then a few moments ago.

The fire ninja smirked, leaving the room as he closed the door. He patted himself on the back as a job well done. If only someone gave him this advice when he was younger too.

A few hours later during dinner, Lloyd finally came with a big smile on his face.

The team, minus Kai, looked at him suspiciously, wondering what got the almighty green ninja so happy. However, none said anything, as they didn't want to trump on his happiness. Until, that is, Nya couldn't hold it in anymore. She was so curious and wanted to know.

"So...had a talk with your girlfriend?" She asked, her fork pointing at him accusingly. His blond hair moved gracefully as he nodded at the water ninja. His smile was even wider and then Cole asked him a teasing question.

That opened the floor to a lot more questions and a happy, but embarrassing discussion. The spikey haired ninja only smiled and let them take the discussion, observing as he ate his dinner. Which had been long forgotten by the rest.

Maybe it wasn't that bad to take advice from the red ninja after all.
