Val's pov

The moment I arrived home, I went straight to my room.

I sat on my bed after replacing my school uniform with my casual clothes.

After an hour of not doing anything, I decided to go out for a walk. I had to sneak out since I knew those guards wouldn't let me leave without asking my dad for permission.

*Ring* *Ring* My phone rang, and I picked it up after seeing the caller ID.

"What do you want, Nick, and why the hell were you not at school?"

"Oh, I went out with Alia on a date,"

"Okay, how was it? Did it go well?"

"Oh yeah, it did,"

"Then why are you calling me?" I asked him.

"I was just checking on you. How was school? did anything interesting happen, like a drama or something?"

"No , fortunately, except for the fact that i saved someone from being beaten up by a group of boys who then tried to take advantage of me"

"What!? Just say the names, and I will deal with em tomorrow."

"No need to worry about that. They were already dealt with," I smiled.

"Anyways, I have to go now. See you tomorrow at school," I said before dropping the call, not waiting for him to ask any question.

I tied my hair into a high ponytail before walking out of my room to execute my plan.

Finally, I managed to sneak out, this was made easy because there was only one guard at the gate, and he was busy on the phone, and others, I assumed they were on a break.

I put my airpods on and began my walk.
I didn't know where I was going, but I ended up at mobi Cafe, a cafe I used to come to with Em when we were little. I wonder if it was still owned by Ms. Lewis.

I went inside the cafe to see that there were only a few people.

"Hi, can I get a double chocolate chip frappe, please?" I said to the girl at the counter. It was my usual order when I came to the cafe yrs ago. I smiled when I remembered the memories.

"Yes, sure."

"Wait, do you by any chance know Ms. Lewis?"

"Oh yeah, she was the previous owner of this shop. She retired a year ago," the girl answered before she started making my order.

That's weird, I kinda of missed her.

"Miss, here is your frappe." I took it from here and gave a small smile as a thank you before going out of the cafe to continue my way back home.

Unbeknownst to me, the moment I went out of the cafe, Em went inside.

******

"The bitch finally showed herself" that's the first thing I heard when I went inside the house.

I ignored Hayley's remarks and went upstairs to my room.

I went inside my room before closing the door. It was so dark. As I flicked on the lights in my room, my heart skipped a beat. There standing in the corner was a silhouette I didn't recognize. Panic surged through me, and I stumbled backward, my mind racing with a thousand questions.

"Who are you?" My voice was steady despite my trembling hands. "Come out so that I finish you off," I said, putting myself in a defense position, ready to punch whoever it was. The figure stepped forward, their features slowly coming into focus. Relief flooded through me as I recognized my best friend Em or is he now?A mischievous smirk plastered on his handsome face.

"Finish me off, you say." he laughed.
"Shut the f*ck up," I pouted as I went to stand beside my bed.

"Sorry for scaring you. Please don't be angry at me, okay?" He said, coming towards me.

"Who said I was scared?" He laughed at what I said. He was making fun of me.

"It's not funny, Em. What are you doing here, by the way? " I said.

"Why? Can't I come to see you? "

"Do you even know what time it is?"

"I don't care, I just want to spend time with you. It's been so long since we went out together, so how about we go out tomorrow and Thursday, maybe even Friday?" He said.

"Please," he pleaded.

"Okay, sure." I smiled.

He looked at me with an emotion I couldn't figure out.

"I have to leave now," he said. He looked into my eyes as if contemplating something.

I looked at his eyes, then his lips. Oh god, I don't know what was wrong with me. His gaze moved to my lips, and he leaned in slowly as if giving me time to back away, but I didn't. As his lips gently brushed against mine, a fluttering sensation stirred within me, spreading warmth throughout my whole body. Time seemed too slow, and the world around us faded into insignificance, leaving only the sweet intensity of that moment.

My heart raced with anticipation, and a gush of emotions surged within me: excitement, nervousness, and a profound sense of connection. His touch was tender, yet electric, igniting a fire within me that I never knew existed.

In that fleeting instant, everything felt right, as if every piece of the puzzle had finally fallen into place. It was a simple kiss, brief yet profound.

As we finally pulled away, my heart was pounding in my chest, a wild symphony of emotions swirling within me. But as I looked into his eyes, I saw the same wonder and awe reflected back at me.

"I've been wanting to do that for a long time." his voice was husky and gentle. He released his hands, which were surprisingly wrapping around my waist. I guess he put them when we were kissing.

"See you tomorrow, mi amor." he peeked my lips and sent me a smile before going out of my room through the window.

"Hey wait Em" I called out, but he was already gone. I just wanted to ask him how he was able to climb in and out of my room since it was on the 3rd floor.

I touched my lips in a daze. What just happened?. Did I just kiss my best friend! And I'm afraid that I really did enjoy the kiss. What is wrong with me.

I know I have liked Em since we were kids but right now is a different story, we are no longer little we have grown and I'm scared of my feelings towards him they seem to be intense.

I don't know what to do.

I went to my closet and changed into my pajamas before going downstairs for dinner.
