(I forgot to add this at the end of the last chapter)
The letter Sirius wrote for Remus was sent to him as Azkaban allowed one owl to be sent to whomever the prisoner wished. Usually the letters were sent to families. To parents and siblings and the closest of relatives, explaining crimes and begging for them to help and stand up for him in the wizard court.
But to Sirius, Remus was his closest relative. His family wouldn't care, if anything they'd be proud of what it looked like he had done and the idea of that made him sick to his stomach.
So he sent it to Remus. His only remaining family.

However when the owl arrived where Remus was supposed to be, no one was home. Azkaban's tired and weary owl dropped the letter at the porch, aiming for the muggle postman. Unfortunately he did not see it or pick it up. The letter was left in the doorway, while the first drops of rain beginning to fall; smudging the ink and burning away the words like fire.

Remus was at his parent's house, left heartbroken, lost and in need of somewhere safe to stay after everything that had happened. He could not go back to his old home for many months and by then it was too late, not that he knew that. And so through fate or bad luck or whatever else you want to call it;

He never got Sirius's letter.
