46: Mushrooms and Beef

Rika's POV

"Rika, ahhhh~" Mingyu reached over his side of the long table and tried to feed me a piece of just beef he just barbecued. Ae Ri, Kimmy and I were going to go for late dinner with Bangtan, but for some reason Bangtan ended up coming with Seventeen in tow. Not that I was complaining; things were just...slightly awkward at the moment. 

"Rika, AHHHH~" Jungkook said somewhat passive-aggressively, him with another piece of beef coming from my left side shoving Mingyu's chopsticks not-so-subtly away. 

I pursed my lips and eyed them each after another, almost not being able to help the grin threatening to break past my forcedly stern face. They were such kids at heart, really...these two supposedly 'idols' that were already so popular in the hearts of so many fangirls. 

"Ae Ri-yah, Ahhh!~" Taehyung deliberately shouted for the whole bbq restaurant to hear from the other end of our long table, to which Ae Ri purposely made a show of eating the beef slice from Taehyung's chopsticks while wriggling her eyebrows at me. The rest of the table just broke out in laughter and I bit my lip smiling at all the stares coming from the other people in the restaurant. They must think we're a bunch of crazy rebellious teenagers out so late at night, what with our crazy hair colours and yelling.  

I couldn't help but look in another direction for help with the situation, and that was when I met eyes with Jun and he gave me the smallest grin, so subtle yet lighting up his whole handsome face that I felt my heart skip a beat.

'Help,' I mouthed. He only shrugged nonchalantly at me as he cocked his head to the side thoughtfully before giving me a wink that caused me to look away in shock too suddenly.

"Rika likes shiitake mushrooms more than you guys' stinky beef," Jun grinned playfully and joined in the passive-agressive fight between Jungkook and Mingyu. Now I had three pairs of chopsticks shoved in my face. Really, they could just drop it all on my plate and I could eat all of it, or I could just eat all of it right now— but then they'd probably argue about whose I ate first, knowing these boys.  

"Seriously Jun? I asked for help, not to make things worse!" I said in exasperation, despite the smile breaking out on my face. 

"Can you guys stop flirting and let me eat?" Woozi and Suga grumbled at the same time. The whole table went silent for a moment before cracking up in laughter that filled the whole restaurant again.

"Yokshi father and son!" Seungkwan laughed all too loudly, clutching his stomach as he fell back against his cushion on the floor along with the other boys and Kimmy and AeRi, who both were grinning wildly. I'm glad they're having fun too. Even Woozi and Suga couldn't help but break out into smiles as they went back to picking at their food— those two smiled rarely but when they did...oh god, it was like angels were let out of heaven. 

While everyone was laughing and back to joking around, I felt someone suddenly poke my cheek. I opened my mouth and jerked my head over ready to yell at someone (in joke of course), but then suddenly Jun's chopsticks stuffed the mushroom into my mouth. I was going to say something in retort, but then his handsomely cheeky grin that filled his face as he quickly turned away to share a joke in Chinese with Minghao left me slowly chewing the mushroom, savouring the taste while feeling my heart beat a million times faster. 

As I was in a daze staring at him laughing and prodding with the other boys, his soft brown hair falling into his kind eyes, two chorusing yells suddenly broke me out of my trance.
