From a secret admirer

With her eyes closed Liv was sitting in the jet. It had been a hard case the last seven days and everyone was more than just tired. The journey back home already took more than three hours but sleep still hadn't overcame the young agent, unfortunately. She'd heard the low voices of her colleagues talking to each other and she hardly kept in a sigh.

Liv had been on the team for almost a year now but she still hadn't been able to open up herself to them. She'd always been a shy person, people had always ignored her most of the time. And she had the feeling it hadn't changed since she'd joined the BAU. She knew it was her fault as well; as long as she didn't open up herself to others people wouldn't open themselves to her neither. Liv snuggled a bit more into the comfortable seat, wrapped her arms around herself and leaned her head against the window. Minutes later she finally drifted off to dreamland.

"Liv? Hey, wake up. We're about to arrive." A hand was gently shaking Liv's shoulder and she opened her eyes. Spencer Reid was standing next to her, a small smile on his face. The smile she'd liked from the first moment on when she'd started working for the BAU. She liked him, but she'd never dare to say a word. So she just smiled back and pushed her hair out of her eyes, so she could properly look at Spencer. He let himself sink into the seat in front of her. She felt his brown eyes examine her and she wriggled in her seat, suddenly starting to feel a bit uncomfortable. "Why are you staring at me?" Liv harshly asked her colleague, frowning. "Oh, I...I wasn't staring at you." Spencer stammered and immediately looked somewhere else. She bit her lip. "I'm sorry, I didn't want to sound harsh. It's just...I can't stand when people stare at me." Liv tried to explain her behave, but he just nodded and gave her another small smile. "I was just wondering why you're always so quiet." Spencer tried to start a conversation. She felt her cheeks burn as they turned a slight pink. "I'm...just that way. I've never talked that much." Liv said while looking out the window. She could already see the lights of the city. They'd arrive in about ten minutes and Liv couldn't wait to crawl in her own bed and sleep for the next eighteen hours or so.

"Hmm." Was everything Spencer said to Liv's explanation. And then silence took over them both. She wasn't in the mood to talk and it seemed like he knew it. So he remained quiet.

As soon as they'd landed Liv wished her colleagues a good night and recreative days off as she grabbed her bag and asked for a taxi. Finally at home, she managed to have a quick shower before she fell into her bed, deadtired. It took her about five minutes to fall asleep, not more.

The following weeks passed really quick and when February had begun, Liv and the team had solved five cases in the past three weeks. They all were quite exhausted and glad, that they got some days to do the paperwork for which they didn't have got time to do so far.

When Liv arrived at her desk, which was filled with lots of files, she paused. There was a single flower standing in a little vase on her desk. She stepped closer to look at it. It was a sunflower, not as big as she saw them at a florist in summer, but it was a really pretty one. She gently touched its petals and couldn't help but smile. Only a few minutes later she discored a little yellow card under the vase. She grabbed and opened it.

From a secret admirer.

There were no more words written on the paper. And Liv was kind of confused while she slowly looked around. Was there really someone here who liked her? Who actually would put a flower on her desk just to make her smile? Liv couldn't really believe that. „Sunflowers stand for happiness, fun and human warmth. People give them to say they like someone." She turned around and saw Spencer next to her desk, his hands in his pockets and he looked down at the beautiful, yellow flower. Liv just smiled at him because she didn't know what to say. She was kind of overwhelmed a bit. No one had ever given her any flowers.

„Oooh, I thought Valentine's Day is only in eight days!" Derek Morgan stepped over to Liv and Spencer, a huge grin on his face. She couldn't help but roll her eyes. „Who put that little sunflower on your desk?" He wanted to know and Liv just shrugged. „I've got no clue." He grabbed the little card, his grin got even wider. „Looks like someone in here likes you and doesn't have the courage to tell you yet." Derek smirked and patted on Liv's shoulder. She sighed and turned around on her chair to face the files who were just waiting for her to finish them. Spencer was already gone again without saying any word.

Liv was more than surprised when she'd found something new on her desk every day she came back into the office. One day it was a cupcake, one day a cup of coffee, the other time some chocolate or another beautiful flower. Whenever she entered the office her heart started to beat a bit faster in excitement to find out what her secret admirer would've put on her desk today. She still had no clue who it could be and she was dying to find out.

When Liv arrived on Valentine's Day, she realized she was the first one in the office. This usually never happened since she lived almost the farthest away from all the agents in that team. She got rid of her coat and her purse as she walked over to her desk. And immediately stopped. A gasp left Liv's mouth as she saw the bouquet of red roses standing there. „What is this?" She whispered to herself as she slowly stepped closer. Who would give her a so many roses for Valentine's Day?! She wasn't even in a relationship! With slightly shaking hands she grabbed the little card next to the bouquet and opened it like she had done every day the past few days.

Happy Valentine's Day, Y/N!

S.R.

S.R.? Liv swallowed. S.R. Like...Spencer Reid? When she heard steps behind her, she turned around. Just to see Spencer standing there. „Fifteen roses." He said while coming closer. „Why...why fifteen?" She asked, frowning. „And...how do you know that?" A little smile parted Spencer's lips. „The amount of the flowers was just random. And I know that because...they're from me." Liv opened her mouth to say something, but she was too overwhelmed to actually build words in her brain. She cleared her throat and glanced over to the beautiful bouquet. Her heart started to pound faster and she felt that comfortable feeling growing in her stomach. „All these little presents over the last days...they were from you, right?" She asked now. Spencer nodded. „Exactly."

„So, you like me?" Liv knew she must've sounded dumb and maybe she actually was when it came to the fact that there were people who liked her. Spencer nodded once again. „I do. I like you a lot. I just...didn't know how to tell you since you're one of those persons who barely talk and I...didn't know how to show you otherwise." He shrugged and her jaw dropped. „You like me." She whispered, what made him laugh now. „Of course I do! We all like you here! Well, I might like you more than the others..." He smirked and carefully grabbed her hands to hold them in his. „I liked you from the start and although I've got no idea if you like me as well, I took the chance of Valentine's Day to show my admiration for you." He smiled and before he could say another word, Liv kissed his cheek. „I like you too, Spencer Reid. And...although I've got no idea where this will lead us, I think we should find it out." She let him put his arms around her and pull her closer before he gently kissed her. And while Liv felt his lips on hers, she finally knew that although she was a quiet person, people still saw her and they liked her.
