I'm running down a corridor.
Sweat droplets bead my forehead, and in my arms is a small item, wrapped in blankets.
I'm not sure why, but I know that I shouldn't open it yet.
So I keep running. I pass by a woman with horns and oddly colored skin, then a woman with a tail, then a man with horns and odd skin, then a man with green skin, and a man with pink. I passed by trails of blood, mangled bodies, corpses.
Soon they become familiar. People I used to work with, neighbors, friends, shit.
The bodies become my new family, yes, I consider them family. And at the end of it, a pedestal, where I place the item. The blankets unwrap, and reveal a child I don't even know, but the power inside it is pulsating. The power is enough to deter me, and I cannot even look at the child. Of course even if I could see the child, it was an infant, so there would be no way for me to recognize it.
Holy shit, is this a calling? Am I going to know a child that can be important, or HAVE a child that will be important? I then awake with a cold sweat.
