Chapter 21- Who To Choose?

Amy's Pov.

Me and Luke had been driving round for ages trying to find Sammy but no luck. "babe I think we should call it quits" Luke said from the besides of me. "no we can't do that. I can't do that. I can't not find her I need to make sure she's alright" I say annoyed at the fact Luke could say that. "amy we've been looking for ages now and we haven't had any luck" Luke then said.

"if you don't want to look for Sammy then fine, get out of the car and I will look for her myself" I say raising my voice, as I put the handbrake on the car as we hit traffic yet again. "i'm not saying I don't want to look for her but babe we've tried. We can't drive around all night looking for her. You're going to get tired" he said softly.

"I don't care about whether or not I get tired Luke, I just want to make sure she's fine. I mean she's my best friend and that's what best friends do. We've been through alot Luke but that doesn't change the fact she's my best friend and she could be hurt somewhere" I say looking at him.

He looked at me, then grabbed my hand and squeezed it. "okay, we will keep looking but promise me one thing" he said to me. "what?" I ask. "if you get tired you will tell me so we can swap" he said sternly. I nodded my head. "i will" I say looking back at the road to see the traffic hasn't moved at all.

"promise me" Luke then said. "I promise Luke. I will tell you if I get tired" I say tapping my hand off the wheel. "why isn't the traffic moving?" I asked curious as to why we had been in this spot for about ten minutes now. "maybe there's been an accident or something" Luke said, I looked at him.

"you don't think it's sammy do you?" I asked him. He shook his head. "no because if she had we would have been called by now- wait a minute" He said when I heard his hone starting to ring. He quickly got it out of his pocket letting go of my hand before getting his phone.

"it's calum" he informed me knowing I was going to ask who it was. "whys he ringing I wonder" he then said and answered the phone placing the phone to his ear. "hey Cal-what's up? Wait what? Seriously.. no way.. She's what? Calum I can't understand you when you're talking that fast.. She's where? The hospital... she's had an accident, you can't be serious. No you are. Well where the hell is she? The hospital you've said that Calum. What hospital. Okay okay we will get there as fast as we can. Okay.. Yes. . Bye Calum" I heard Luke say and hang up the phone.

I looked at him, he looked at me. "well?" I say."we need to get to the hospital" "why?" I ask slightly knowing the answer by hearing bits of what Luke was saying. "Sammy's in the hospital again" "w-what why?" I ask tears starting to form. Taking the hand break off the car I started driving again as the traffic moved.
"she's been in a car accident" he said and I didn't hear a word after that as I continued driving thinking of the fact she was in hospital. What if she died? Car accident. Couldn't she get a damn break.

Luke's Point OF View.
"she's been in a car accident" I say to Amy. The traffic had started moving now and Amy was driving not saying a word. "babe" I called trying to get her to talk to me, nothing. "amy" I think I had called her name around ten times and she hadn't replied to me so I resulted in placing my hand on her leg and rubbing it repeatedly. Normally she would look at me when I did that as she didn't really like it. "luke stop it" she said looking at me slightly. I smiled getting her attention. "what you thinking?" I ask.

"thinking about getting to the hospital" she said. "she'll be alright babe" I say reassuringly. "you don't know that" she said snapping at me taking me back a little by her outburst. "i'm sorry Luke, I'm just really worried about Sammy." she says grabbing my hand as the car stopped due to the traffic again.

"it's okay I understand, you're upset I know that. You don't mean what you say" I say smiling at her, she smiled at me and continued driving all the way to the hospital.

*At the hospital*
Third Person.

Everyone was at the hospital outside Sammy's room as Amy and Luke arrived. Each of them hugging one another. "any news?" Amy asked as she pulled away from Calum's hug. "just that she's on life support, severe damage to her head. Trouble breathing" Ashton said wiping his eyes.

Everyone was in shock, "she's going to wake up though right?" Amy asked. "they don't know amz. The doctor said it's not a certainty that she will, she's got a severe head injury and not only that she can't breathe on her own" Calum said to her. Everyone was upset, all in tears. "this can't be happening" Amy yelled bursting into tears. Luke pulled her into his chest and hugged him tight. "she's going to be okay" he said reassuringly trying to reassure his girlfriend but the truth is he didn't know if she was going to be okay, none of them.

Around two hours later all of them were sat in her room silently. A phone started going off, it was Amy's phone. "sorry I thought I turned it off, I have to take this excuse me" Amy said got off Luke's lap and walked out and answered the phone call.

She was gone for five minutes before someone got up and walked out to see if everything was alright as nobody else seemed to bother to do so.

Calum's POV.

I walked out to see if Amy was alright as Luke didn't make any attempts to do so. I walked down the corridor and found amy sat on one of the chairs looking at the floor. Her hair covering her face. "amy what's wrong?" I ask. She slowly looked up, she was crying. I noticed her phone in her hands. She looked at me. "what's wrong?" I asked sitting down next to her. "it was my mum she was phoning me to tell me that my nan only has weeks to live, she's dying of cancer Calum.. I have to go back to the UK"
