One Mistake

It's been a few days since I seen Seth. A lot of old feelings came back. Especially after he kissed me. His lips on mine felt so right, but I couldn't go back down that road. I was in my office finishing up paperwork. Then my secretary buzzed in. "Ms. Winters, there is a Mr. MacFarlane here to see."

My eyes widen and I wondered what the hell he was doing there. I wanted to turn him away but I knew if my boss heard I turned a celebrity away, he would bitch a fit. I sighed. "Send him in." I said through the phone.

A moment later, my secretary opened my office door and Seth walked in. I looked at my secretary and said, "Thank you, Jessica."

She nodded. Seth looked at her as she closed the door, then at me as he pointed to her. "So, weird. Last time I saw you, you were her. Now, you have your own errand girl."

I rolled my eyes and said, "I don't treat her like an errand girl. She does what the job calls for, nothing else. I understand what it felt like to be there so I decided that I wouldn't be that boss."

He smiled at me. "You always were kind."

I asked, a bit annoyed, "Why are you here?"

"I, uh, came to, um, to see if you wanted to get dinner." He said, shyly.

I thought it was cute that he seemed nervous. But I couldn't show him that. I asked, plainly, "You really think that is best?"

"It's just dinner." He said.

"It's not just dinner, Seth, and you know it." I was annoyed again. "It would mean something else to you."

"What if I promise, it wouldn't. Would you accept?" He asked me, hopeful.

I exhaled and looked away from him. I knew this was a bad idea. I looked back at him and he was still hopeful. He looked really cute and he was making it impossible to say no. I then gave a small smile, "Okay, fine, Seth. But I have some conditions."

He was smiling brightly, "Okay, what?"

"You are not to take this out of context. This doesn't mean anything, do you understand me?" He smiled as he nodded. "This is just dinner among old friends."

"No, I fully understand." He said, almost excitedly.

It made me laugh as it was really cute. "Okay, dinner then."

"How do I contact you about details?" He asked.

"Well, just leave your number with Jessica. I will text you a little later about where and when." I told him.

He nodded happily. "Will do." He back away as he said, "I'll see you later, Mary."

I smiled at him. "Later, Seth."

The day went on and I did text Seth. We made plans. I told him just to meet me at my place and I would drive as I wanted to check out this place that I have been eyeballing. He only happily agreed. I texted him my address as I headed home and told him to meet me there in like two hours. I was getting dressed when I heard my doorbell rang. I quickly got to the door and opened it. There was Seth, standing there, smiling. "Hey. Come on in, I gotta get my shoes on and get my purse." I said to him.

He slowly walked in as I rushed back in. I found my shoes and put them on. I looked over at him as he looked around. "Wow, Mary. You really did well for yourself. Much better then the last place I seen you in."

"Well, that is what happens when you make money. Can afford nicer things now." I said to him.

I got my shoes on and grabbed my purse. I looked at him and asked, "You ready to go?"
