The big day was here. I was nervous as hell. I woke up that morning without Seth being there. He wanted to keep tradition. It was important to him, so we spent the night apart. I honestly hated it. I knew Seth did too as he texted me all night. He let me stay at the house as he knew the girls would come there in the morning to get ready. We were doing the wedding in the backyard. So, it made sense that I stayed there as us women took longer to get ready. I hated being away from Seth though. I knew he did too. He was texting me throughout the night. I woke up the next morning and was so tired. Us girls were in the rooms getting hair and make up done. Rachael walked in and saw me. "Oh, shit. You look horrible."
"Thanks." I said, sarcastically.
She asked, "What time did you go to bed?"
"Like two maybe three." I simply said.
"Why were you up so late?" She seemed concerned.
I sighed. "Between not having Seth next to me last night and being nervous about today, take your pick."
Just then, my mom knocked on the door. Her and my father arrived the day before for the wedding. I was actually excited to see her. I stood up which stopped the make up artist from doing my make up and hugged her. My mother was teared up already. "Oh my god. I can't believe the big day is here. My little girl is really getting married."
I pulled away and said, sarcastically, "Yeah, but I think you and dad would have prefer a different groom."
I sat back down and she said with a smile, "No, not really. Yeah, we were quick to judge him. I will admit that. But I think he is the perfect guy for you. He is very sweet. We were quick to judge his personality by what he does and we shouldn't have. Don't tell your father this, but I think your dad even likes him."
I chuckled at this. Then she noticed Rachael and said, happily, "Hey, Rachael."
"Hey, Elizabeth. How are you?" Rachael asked.
"Very well. And you?" She asked her.
"Oh, two girls and a husband who acts like a child, what do you think?" Rachael joked.
I laughed at this and my mom chuckled. Then my dad knocked on the door and asked, "Is it okay to come in?"
I smiled at him. "Yes, daddy."
He walked in and my make up was just done. My hair was already done as well. My dad smiled. "Already, beautiful."
"Thanks, daddy." I smiled.
"So, we have something for you." He said.
I looked confused. "What?"
My dad pulled from his inner jacket pocket, a thin but wide jewelry box. He held it out and I took it gently. I looked at him and asked, "What is this?"
I slowly opened it as my mom said, "My mother gave it to me when I got married and now I am giving it to you. It's a family heirloom."
I looked at it and it was a beautiful heart necklace with a diamond in it. "Oh my god, mom. It's beautiful."
I looked at her as my eyes teared up. She took the box from me and took the necklace out. She handed the box to my dad and I turned my back to her. She put it on my neck and I picked up the heart. I looked down at it and smiled. I turned back to my parents and smiled, happily. "Thank you so much. I love it."
I hugged them both and my dad said, "We love you, princess."
I pulled away and my mom then said, "Okay, we will let you guys get done getting ready."
