The world has seemed to stop as we kiss, it's a celebration of our love, as well as a new chapter in both of our lives, our lives together.  I don't hear a sound, my soul focus is the feel of his mouth on mine, the texture and taste of him and the emotions we are trying to convey. I'm only vaguely aware of the little velvet box still clutched in the palm of my hand.

Prince breaks the kiss, palming my cheeks, his thumbs stroke away my tears. "Sugar, you haven't even looked at your ring," he seems anxious for my approval.

"I already know I'll love it," I say to him gently.

"Open it," he urges.

I remove my arms from around his body to look at the box in my hand, then I look back at him, stroking his cheek with my free hand. "Prince, you could have proposed to me with a pop tab.  It's not about the ring, it's about us."

"I know, Sugar," he looks me in the eye. "That's another reason I love you.  You love me, not things."  He nods towards the box, "Please, open it."

I open the lid, my free hand reflexively covers my mouth, the ring is stunning, more tears fill my eyes.  It couldn't be any more lovely, it's a ring I would have chosen myself.  I finally regain my composure enough to speak, "Oh, Prince, it's perfect!"

He grins ear to ear, happy that I like it.  As I lean forward to kiss him, he jokes, "It sure isn't a pop tab."

I hand him back the box, "Please, do the honors."

I extend my left hand out for him, he pulls the ring from the box and tenderly slips it onto my finger. The fit is perfect, he kisses my hand after it's placed.  As I hold my hand up to admire the ring, I stroke his face again, "It really is spectacular, I do love it."

"Come on," he takes my hand and leads me to the piano. He assists me with getting on top of it, then takes a seat on the bench. I spin, laying down on my stomach for a better view, I love to watch him play. I fold my arms so I can rest my chin on my hands as he gets situated.  His fingers begin to dance across the keys, then he starts to sing.

How did I ever come this far without U, baby?
What was I thinkin', what was I tryin' 2 be?
Never did U ever give me reason 2 doubt U, baby
U are my destiny and this I truly see

I can see we're like 2 petals from the same flower, baby
We're like 2 branches from the same tree
Whenever I look in your eyes, I can see a paradise
U're my saviour, U're all I ever need

I used 2 say, no one lover could have me, no one lover
That was before my eyes had seen the light
2 make love with another, uh uh, I couldn't do it, no way
U're my saviour, U're the only one that does it right

Can't U see we're like 2 petals from the same flower, baby?
We're like 2 branches from the same tree
Whenever I look in your eyes, I can see a paradise
U're my saviour, U're all I ever need
What would I be without your love around me?
What would I see, U constantly astound me
Saviour
Yeah!
