After a long year of ups, downs, and an emotional break up that only lasted four hours, Clover and Dante were celebrating their one year anniversary. Instead of having a calm and low key date like they usually do every weekend, usually of them just spending time together running errands, they decided to spend their Wednesday night having a dinner date between just the two of them.
Dante drove up to Mateo's house in his red bmw 4 series convertible and parked it on the side of the road. When he got out the car, he took a few deep breaths while walking up to the front door. He knocked on the door and rang the doorbell as he made sure his black button up shirt, red tie, black slacks, and black dress shoes looked okay.
The moment the door swung open, Dante saw Diego standing there leaning against the doorframe looking Dante up and down.
"What's up, my man?" Diego smirked. "She should be here in a second, but you look nice. You made it through the first year with her, I'm gonna be honest. Didn't think y'all would make it. But I'm proud, that shows you're in it for the long run."
Dante chuckled as he rubbed his hands together. "Thanks, Diego. I know that comes from your heart."
Diego chuckled as he heard yelling voices from inside. He turned around to see Jose and Stephen walking over to him and crowding the doorframe to take a look at Dante.
"Army boy cleans up nice." Stephen complimented.
Jose nodded agreeing with him. "Yeah. You'd look better with your braids though. Kinda signature style of yours."
Dante reached up and touched his hair. It was growing fast but it still wasn't long enough for him to braid, so he just slicked it back with some gel with the help of his brother.
"Hey!" Manny voice yelled. "Move boys!"
The three boys instantly moved out the doorway when Manny started yelling at them in Spanish and hitting them with one of her sandals she was wearing.
"Ow! Stop it!" Diego hissed in pain.
Dante just chuckled but his chuckle turned to pure shock when he looked up to see Clover in the doorway instead of Manny. She was in a long black dress with a deep v-neck and a slit to show off her left leg. There was a layer of sheer fabric over the skirt to give it more flair. She had on black heels and her hair was flatironed with waves in it. Her makeup was to the minimum and the only jewelry she had on was her promise ring.
