You awoke to the sounds of birds chirping, and you knew that meant it was go time. You grabbed your pre packed bag, took a moment to collect your thoughts, and headed out for your dreaded mission.
Pain and worry swirled in your head as you saw Kakashi in the distance, waiting on you so that y'all could start the quest that would break both of you.
After moments of silence and unwavering eye contact, Kakashi spoke.
"The file says we have 3 days to make it to the targets location. We could make it there in just under 2 days if we skip one nights sleep." He muttered in a monotone voice.
"You wanna get there more quickly than we need to..?" You mumbled back, puzzled. His face flushed as he responded.
"I was thinking it would give us an extra day to spend together where we didn't have to travel." His eyes looked away with that reply, and he turned to face the direction you two would need to go.
You started walking ahead of him without acknowledging what he had said. It was thoughtful and you appreciated it, but it hurt.
Everything hurt.
You wanted more than just one day.
