THE TOUR
THE NEXT MORNING SCARLETT WOKE UP BY THE MAZE DOORS. The loud rumbling of the doors opening entered it's way through the Glade. She pushed herself up on her elbows and watched. Two guys went out there, and Newt standing behind the doors not entering with them.
Newt then turned to Scarlett and saw that she still had the orange blanket he put on her last night. He didn't want her to get cold. From afar she could see Newt staring at her, which made her scoff and roll her eyes.
Sitting up she noticed that she had an orange blanket on her. She didn't remember anyone putting it over her last night. Someone must've been kind enough to bring it to her in the middle of the night when she was passed out. She flicked the blanket off of her and rolled it up. When she was going to walk forward Alby stood in her way with folded arms.
Scarlett gasped and jumped back. "Sorry, didn't mean to scare you," Alby said. Scarlett looked at him.
"It's fine." "You ready for the tour?" Scarlett nodded. "I guess." "Good. Let's get goin' then."
Walking off with Alby, she gave Newt one last glance. She turned to him only to find out that he was still staring at her as well.

Alby and Scarlett first started at the Box. Or more basically, the metal contraption that had sent her up to the Glade in the first place.
Looking down at it, she frowned. She wanted to know where she was before this. She wanted to know what she did to deserve to be sent up in this prison. What they call it, the Glade. "This here is the Box. Every month, it sends up a new Greenie like you. Only the Box usually sends up boys, this time they sent up a female."
"What does Greenie mean?" Scarlett asked.
Alby looked at her. "No questions until after, you get me? Otherwise this is gonna take all day," Alby said. Scarlett nodded. "The Box comes up with supplies. Anything we need. We send a note down there, and they send it up here with the new arrival. Oh, remind me, a box came up here for you. I guess it has a few Girls things or whatever." That perked Scarlett's interest.
She wondered what could possibly be in that box. "The Box doesn't go down with someone in it. We tried that. We tried lowering a shank down there but when we pulled the rope, he was gone. Vanished. Disappeared." Scarlett's eyes widened.
"Where did he go?" She asked. "That we don't know. There was blood at the end of the rope,
so he obviously went nowhere good." Scarlett's heart dropped. "He died?" She frowned."Yeah," Alby nodded.
"He was a good kid. But he wanted to see what would happened, everyone else didn't want to volunteer so he did. Anyways..." Scarlett's mind went blank. It made her sick to see how little Alby cared about the boy who died. He was just a kid. She pictured him with a happy smile and kind eyes, a good friend to someone here in the Glade. So innocent and young. He didn't deserve to die. "That's mostly it for the Box. Let's head onto something else," Alby said.
Following, Scarlett looked down at the Box.
She could only think of the little boy who died down there. He probably had friends here in the Glade who were also his family. "You coming or not?" He asked. "Yeah, yeah. I am..." She trialed off. She followed Alby and they headed towards different parts of the Glade.
