OFFICIALLY A GLADER
A SEETHING THOMAS BALLED HIS FISTS. His breathing hitched as he watched the screen.
Newt stepping closer to her made his heart quiver with jealousy. It hurt him even more considering she was stepping closer as well.
"Teresa you have to send me there," Thomas spoke up. Teresa on the other side of him was looking through papers. They were getting ready for Thomas's arrival in a few weeks. She looked over at him and sighed. "Tom, I can't-"
Thomas shook his head. "No. Don't Tom, me. Did you see the way Newt was looking at her?"
Teresa raised an eyebrow. "Did you see the way she was looking at him?" Thomas glared.
"If she chooses him... I wouldn't be able to live with myself." "Did you ever think that maybe it's time to get over her? Face the truth, Tom. When you get there she won't remember you. You won't remember her. Your love may be strong, but it's not that strong to remember each other after we take your memories."
"That's where you're wrong, Teresa. You don't know anything about it. You don't know what it's like because you've never been," Thomas said. "You're right, I don't. Because the only thing I'm focused on right now is finding a cure, and that's exactly what your brain should be focused on, too."
"What am I supposed to do? What if she falls for him?" He whispered.
"She won't, Tom. Trust me." Thomas shook his head. "You better be right, Teresa." "I always am."
-Newt stood over Scarlett who was still asleep.
Of course she was still sleeping. When is she not? Smiling down at her, he folded his arms.
He brought his hand to her hair and ran it through. The feeling of her hair on his hand made his body tingle. When she woke up her eyes shot right at Newt's. She groaned. "Get up, Greenie. You're with Frypan today, remember?" "Yeah, I remember. I just want to sleep." Laying back down, sleep almost took over her until Newt picked her up and threw her over his shoulders, bringing her outside.
"Newt- no, p-put me down!"
She hit his back with the palm of her hands which made him chuckle. "You could stop now, that would be greatly appreciated," Newt said.
She scoffed. "You can put me down now, that'd be even more greatly appreciated." Newt laughed. "Good. You're heavier than you look."
Dropping her to the ground, she gasped and laid on the grass. "The grounds actually quite comfy. You should try it sometime." Instead of laying down he picked up the girl again and threw her over his shoulders once more.
"Newt- no!"
She couldn't help but to laugh when they entered the kitchen. Frypan was looking at them with raised eyebrows. "Uh Newt, you can put me down now," she said. "Yep." Placing her on her feet, she fixed her hair and looked at him. "Thanks," she grinned. "Anytime." Newt winked. Scarlett blushed and Newt smiled.
"You two done? Cause we got to start cooking," Frypan announced from the stove. Newt cleared his throat and nodded. "Yeah. I'll be seeing you later, Greenie," He said, walking out. He left there with a smile on his face.
"What's going on with you two?" Frypan asked.
"Nothing, Fry," she shook her head.
He grinned. "That didn't look like nothing."
"Whatever." She scoffed, "Let's get cooking."
"I couldn't agree more."
He smiled.

Working with Frypan was a good time. Just like the first time she cooked with him it was even better this time. Frypan taught her how to make his famous French toast, even if it did just consist of eggs, cinnamon and whatever else made French toast taste so delicious.
He said that she did a pretty good job and was proud. When they were done making everyone's breakfast the two handed out the food and saved some for themselves. Scarlett found herself walking towards Newt's table.
On the way there, she caught eyes with Minho who was sitting with Alby. Feeling her breathing hitch up, she quickly made her way over to Newt, Winston, Jeff, and Clint. When she sat down, Newt smiled at her. "Good French toast, Greenie. I'd say it's almost better than Fry's."
She laughed, which caused Jeff to smile. "It is pretty good," Jeff admitted. "Thanks," she grinned. "After breakfast I want to show you something," Newt said to her. "Alright. Show me what?" Clint and Jeff looked at each other.
"You'll just have to wait and see."

When breakfast was done Newt lead Scarlett to the Maze wall, where every Glader who has come up there has their name written on the wall. When she noticed all of the names on the wall, she walked close to it and ran her fingers across the engraved names. She ran her fingers over a name that was crossed out; George. And a few others. She wondered what had happened to him and wondered how they died.
"What happened to them?" She asked, a frown forming on her face.
"Dark days, Greenie. It wasn't always like this then," Newt said. She nodded, licking her lips.
"I know. You were telling me." Newt dug something out from his brown bag that he always seemed to carry around with him. She noticed him pull out a knife. "Whoa, Newt, buddy. I don't annoy you that much, do I?" Scarlett held her hands up in surrender. Newt chuckled.
"Don't worry, I would never hurt you." She knew for a fact that he wouldn't.
"Here. Take this." Handing her the knife. She felt the weight of it in her hands and smiled.
"Now, it's time for you to write your name on that wall." She grinned, "You sure?"
"You've all taught us that you're one of us. Now it's time to officially write it on this wall." She smiled. She could tell that this wall was special to him, even if it was just made out of concrete.
The way he stared at it, meant a lot to him. And now her name will be put there. Stepping closer to the wall, she started engraving her name. When she was finished, she realized that her name was right above his. Right above Newt's name. She smiled, turning to look up at him and handing back his knife. She was officially one of them. She was officially a Glader.
