The night was still young and more people had arrived at the Lockwood residence missing the previous events at the beginning of the night. Lillian had calmed down as was mid-conversation with Rune's mother as she sent out her apologies for Edvard's prison sentence.

Tirion and Clarissa went home after Gethin's arrest as Tirion was in such a state and she couldn't believe what had happened. She wanted to prepare herself for the embarrassment she was yet to face when she and the others return to Hogwarts in the next couple of days.

Rune, Dove, Emory, Morgandy, Ophelia and Tom were sat in the warm living room.

"Honestly now, Lia, are you okay?" Morgandy asked reaching her hand out onto her leg.

"Morg, I'm fine, stop checking up on me, I knew there was something going on, and I knew Edvard would never do a thing like that, in all the years I've known him," Ophelia sighed as Morgandy had asked for the ninth time in the past 4 four hours since Gethin Driscoll was arrested, "I just can't get over how Adonis knew, I just wish he had told me!"

The group heard loud voices from outside as they realised everyone was counting down to midnight. The people outside had reached one and started yelling 'Happy New Year' and were probably blasting off fireworks from their wands.

"Happy New Year, guys," Dove smiled as she looked around everyone and cuddled up into Rune's chest.

"I can legally drink now both wizarding and muggle world, so if you excuse me, I'm off to find Abner," Emory stated as he got up off the sofa and headed towards the kitchen back door.

"Typical Emory," Morgandy rolled her eyes, "as soon as he sees you two get all cosy, he gets jealous and leaves."

"It's because he can't get over the fact that Lia is finally happy now," Tom smiled down at Ophelia as she was cuddled up in Tom's chest.

"Since when have you called her Lia?" Avery asked as he walked into the living room, "and since when have you two been a thing?"

"Jesus Christ, Harlen, you sit next to them every day in Potions, how on earth have you not noticed their chemistry," Dove whined as she smacked his palm into her head.

"Okay, ignoring your questions, why on earth are you eating my cereal?" Ophelia glared at Avery who put yet another spoonful of cereal into his mouth.

"I got hungry, asked your mum and voillà, I have cereal and I'm no longer hungry," Avery shrugged as he sat next to Tom, "also, Happy New Year, people!"

"Yeah, Happy New Year, butt," Rune nodded as he looked back to Ophelia with a disgusted face.

"You're such a pig, Harlen," Tom scoffed as moved a bit closer to Ophelia, pulling her onto his lap at the same time.

Before Avery could protest Orion, Emory, Abner, Starr, Elowen and Twyla came running in with an excited look on their faces.

"Rune," Emory smiled as caught his breath from running, "your dad's back."

Rune looked a Dove who had a massive smile on her face, "Dove, I love you, but I'm sorry."

With that Rune jumped out of his seat, and started running towards the back door where there were a load of cheers coming from, closely followed by everyone else who had big smiles on their faces. Tom, however, was the only person who got up at a normal pace and walked outside like a normal person. Tom walked up to Ophelia and wrapped his arm around her shoulders.

Rune was among his mum and dad as the three Lufkin's hugged earning more cheers and claps from everyone around.

Once they finished their hug and they all pulled away and everyone could see the tears running down each of their faces, Edvard reached his arms out to Lillian which she gladly accepted the hug. Edvard whispered a thousand apologies to Lillian about the whole situation and how she should have never gone through it.

Edvard pulled away once again and kissed Lillian on the head, his next stop was George as he shook his hand and gave him a hug, "thank you, George, thank you for believing in me." George nodded his head and shook his hand once again.

Edvard turned around and smiled down upon Dove, "and you, you miss Snowberry, thank you for keeping not only Rune but my wife strong, I can't wait for you to become a Lufkin one day."

Dove laughed as she hugged Edvard, whilst Rune turned a dark tomato red from his father's words with Abner and Emory laughing at the colour he had turned. Ophelia looked up at Tom and smiled as he watched with just a bland expression as though it wasn't a heartfelt moment.

"And Ophelia, how can I forget you?" Edvard asked once he had finished hugging Dove, "you believed in me when such terrible things happened to your family."

Ophelia moved from Tom's arm and hugged Edvard, the hug was quick but love and thankfulness was the most powerful emotion there.

"And you must be Tom?" Edvard asked as he faced Tom. Tom simply nodded his head with a quick smile.

Edvard reached out his hand for Tom to shake, "thank you, for unravelling the truth about me."

"No problem, sir, glad I could help," Tom smiled.

Ophelia walked back over to Tom and hugged herself into his chest as everyone went back to normal with Edvard Lufkin walking around and greeting friends.

The group all joined each other again with a few cheers for the Lufkin's, with some for Rune and Dove.

"We did it," Ophelia smiled, "Edvard's a free man after four weeks of hell."

"All thanks to you and Tom," Morgandy cheered, "you're getting better at this, Lia."
