Ship: OT5 Poly (with Thomas! Though tbh, it's not romance focused)
This is probably gonna be pretty bad cause I'm just letting my writing flow. I have no real plan of where this is going (which is how I write most of my stories to be fair). Let's just see how it goes anyways.
Note is at the bottom!
A villain is a character in a story or plot who opposes the hero.
God, he'd done it again.
Oh god, now he'd hate him. He'd think he was a freak. He didn't mean to do it. It was an instinct he had ingrained in himself.
"Kiddo? You okay?"
"...I'm sorry." He mumbled, looking down and staring at the carpet as if it were the most interesting thing in the room.
"Hey, it's okay. I get you're not used to being part of the family yet. Don't worry, we'll get there soon." Patton reassured, a warm smile on his face.
Virgil nodded silently, his mind continuously replaying the moment he flinched away from the hand ruffling his hair. He shuddered, trying to imagine physical contact directed at him. It made his skin crawl. It was strange.
After all, if you give anyone the ability to get close to you, you give them to the ability to hurt you.
And that scared him.
They are primarily characterised with malicious and/or deliberately evil intentions.
"Greetings, Hot Topic!"
Virgil clutched his chest, swivelling around to turn towards Roman. "You gave me a freaking heart attack, dude!"
Shrugging, Roman padded over next to him by the control panel. He took in what was on the screens, where Thomas was tossing and turning on his bed, and Virgil, who was tugging hard on a lever that appeared to be stuck in place.
"Why is Thomas having a nightmare?" He asked curiously.
He noticed the way Virgil froze for a second before he resumed his task, conveniently not holding eye-contact as he answered. "Nightmare escaped. Froze the antivirus lever."
"Ah..." Roman nodded, understanding.
Wordlessly, he walked over to where Virgil was and began helping him.
He failed to notice that Virgil had tensed up in fear that he would be blamed, his shoulders and arms locked and his stance defensive.
Abruptly, the ice snapped and they toppled backwards, falling onto each other. They laid there for a couple of long seconds, their eyes focused on one another.
And then suddenly, it clicked. Scrambling away from the other, they practically bolted to opposite sides of the room, awkwardly brushing off dust as they watched their host's distress dissipate.
"Let us never speak of that." Roman broke the silence as he began to leave the room.
"Of what?"
The Prince could hear the smirk in Virgil's voice and he chuckled as he closed the door behind him.
Villains tend to be self-centred, working for their own causes.
He'd been up for how long now? Um.. 24 hours in a day and he'd been up for 3... 3 times 24...
God, he was too tired to do this.
Yawning, he stared at the piece of paper in front of him. The words on it were blurry and he could have sworn they were swimming or something.
