Chapter 8

Alphys signaled for us to enter into the lab. When entering we walked straight past Undyne, who just stared at me with piercing eyes. The four monsters headed into another room, leaving me alone in the lab's hallway where I was told to wait. The lab consisted of white walls and floors. The steel tables were pristine and clear, except one which carried a photo frame. Picking the picture up in my hands I blacked out, falling to the floor.

I held tightly onto the photo frame. The picture inside was of Alphys, the man from before and a tall woman with short brown hair and grey skin. I began to sob, not knowing where I was or what I needed to do. While looking for an exit a light suddenly emerged. I walked slowly towards it, still a little scared. I saw Sans and the others on the other side of the light. Almost like they were in a bubble. I listened in on the conversation.

" Could it be brother?" Sans shook his head.

" Nah bro. Gaster has been dead for years. I was there remember?"

" Do you forget tubby, Gaster was the only one who spoke wing ding " Undyne began to tap her spear on a glass table.

" L...looking at this footage from when Kyra fell she shouldn't have survived b...but something slowed down her descent, almost lowering her down to the ground " Sans seemed to become impatient with the sudden accusations.

" Look...Kyra is harmless and I refuse to make accusations without hard evidence" Papyrus smiled at his brother's good nature.

" You always see the best in people " Undyne scoffed.

" Not always a good thing " Suddenly Alphys left the room and soon I could hear screams resonating from around me. The screams were quickly followed by face paced and rapid footsteps. The space around me began to glow brightly and I finally managed to open my eyes.

After opening my eyes I saw Papyrus was shaking me harshly in panic, the others telling him to stop. I sat up slowly and rubbed my aching head, the frame now missing. Everyone looked panicked and it took me a while to come around. I was still unsure why I blacked out. It was almost like someone was helping me see what was being said. I had so many questions now though. Who was Gaster? Was he the man from before? Did he prevent me from dying and if so what for? I did know however that finding the answers wouldn't be easy.
