The next day Sans brought me to an old, worn down shed that was hidden behind the house. I rubbed my eyes from tiredness, not getting much sleep the night before. My mind was racing still. I had so much to worry about bit Sans said he was going to help, help me find who I really was.
The short skeleton took a rusted key out of his coat pocket and used it to open the shed's old, wooden door. Inside was unhygienicly clean with contrasted the tattered and run down look of the outside. One of the many steel tables that decorated the room was adorned with stacks of untouched papers.Sans picked up a few papers.
" I can't read this kiddo. Its in wing ding. What about you?"
I studied the papers for a moment before answering.
" It says ' Step one. AU's ' "
" AU's? " Sans paced up and down, either thinking about the papers or confused by them.
" The doc always did have a fascination with other timelines" Hearing this made me wonder how much Sans actually knew. Did his bond with Gaster go deeper then mine? I continued to read.
" It also mentions something about harvesting the power of powerful AU to break the barrier and free everyone " Sans' skull shot up to look at me.
" The barrier...." he spoke softly, almost a whisper. He had never mentioned a barrier before. Sans noticed my confusion.
" Kid. It's time ya learn what has been going on here " Sans said whilst patting an old wooden chair next to the one he was sitting in, a sign to sit. I did so and listened to him.
" I have a certain power. I can remember things others can't. We had two humans fall before you. Frisk. They were a good person. Once when they fell they were kind and lead us all to our freedom. A pure heart. Then time reset. Something frisk did. When they fell a second time they were possessed by a spirit named Chara. They killed many monsters but somehow, I was able to stop them before they killed absolutely everyone "
It was a lot to take it, so much so that not everything was processed at once. Even so, I listened on.
" Remember that flower that tried to hurt you? I made him reset the timeline since frisk couldn't and only us two remember what happened both times "
I was astounded. Some things made much more sense now. Why Sans was so protective and way he was so eager to get answers out of me. I looked to Sans sadly, upset he had to go through all that. I patted his shoulder. He couldn't hide everything behind that grin of his.
I picked up the documents and began to read them.
" We will finally get you your freedom " I smiled kindly and began my work. Sans left shortly after, going to get us food. I had never felt more determined to help now, knowing what Sans went through. I wanted to help him, so he didn't have to go through that again.
