As I sifted through the papers I remembered something I had asked Sans the pervious night. I finally asked him who Gaster was. Apparently Gaster was the royal scientist before Alphys. He was in charge of finding ways to protect the kingdom. In an attempt to gather souls for freedom Gaster created some sort of wormhole into AUs. He fell into his creation before completion, scattering his soul all over time and space.
I felt for Gaster. He only wanted to do good by everyone and was punished for his efforts.
I laid the very last document on the steel table, having read each one. I gathered up the remains of my dinner and was about to return to Sans when I stopped, feeling something ominous behind me. I didn't turn around. Not wanting to know what was going on. The feeling become familiar the longer I stayed like this. Finally, gathering my courage, I turned around to face what was behind me. It was the mysterious man from before, standing right in front of the door. I stuttered.
" Gaster?" The man nodded slowly, speaking in a much clearer voice.
" Hello Kyra" I took a step back, not expecting that.
" How come I can understand you now?" Gaster chuckled softly, his ever broken smile widening.
" Your memories must have awoken my child. Nice to see you still like to ask questions"
" Still?" Gaster began walking towards me, convinced he was going to walk past me I started to move aside. To my shock he walked right through me. I turned to face Gaster's new position.
" You have changed a lot from before, well it has been ten years since we last met " I took a step backward, almost falling over a metal stool.
" I was eight?" Gaster nodded in response. Sitting down I began to question him.
" What are you doing here?"
" Do you remember what I told you my child? Have your powers not awoken?" I shot up, suddenly paying much more attention.
" Powers?" Gaster frowned and opened some sort of portal.
" Let me show you. Take my hand " I was torn as to weather to take his hand. If I did it could spell disaster but if I didn't I may never find the answers I was looking for.
Taking his hand I stood up and followed as he leaded his way into the portal. When we emerged on the other side I was surprised by what I saw.
