Meeting the family

Ruby

Ruby wants you to meet her family pretty early into the relationship, since she wants them to like you. She talks about you a lot to her family, so they're all curious as well

She'll ease you into it by having you meet Yang first, and then saying if you found her scary, then just wait until you meet her dad

Ruby gets flustered when her family gives her boyfriend a hard time, but doesn't try and stop them from doing it, since she knows by this point that it's basically hopeless

Introducing you to Summer is something that scares you, but when you sit down and talk to her at the grave like it isn't a big deal, that means the world to Ruby

When she meets your family, she gets really nervous. She knows a lot of people see her as a spaz, and she wants to make sure your family likes her. She tends to practice formalities with Weiss, and then practices introducing herself in the mirror

Weiss

She puts off introducing you to her family as long as she possibly can. It isn't that Weiss is embarrassed of you. She simply doesn't want her father to make things more difficult for her, and she also suspects he won't approve of you

Weiss knows how intimidating it can be for one to meet her parents, so she starts with Winter. Winter threatens you, but backs off when you assure her that you love Weiss. Seeing you interact with her older sister also makes Weiss realize how much she loves you herself

When the two of you are meeting the rest of her family, she will remind you very often that it doesn't matter to her what they think of you, since she loves you.

After you meet her family, the two of you will often talk about them, and Weiss is more open about the insecurity and pain they caused her growing up. Meeting her family may have been difficult, but it greatly helps the relationship you have with her as she starts to open up

Meeting your family is something Weiss prepares for, but can't help but feel unprepared. She wants them to like her, and approve of the relationship the two of you have since she knows how difficult it is to have a relationship where that isn't the case. Weiss works on her greetings and social skills, while turning back on her perfectionist qualities and making sure to let your parents know she really loves you.

Blake

Blake is reluctant to introduce you to her family. She worries they may resent her for not having left the White Fang when they did, and that the two of them will drive you away. Blake knows how important it is for you to meet them, however she usually wants to put it off when they ask her, and only agrees to do it when you ask her

She gets extremely embarrassed by how the two of them act, and tries her best to stop them when they embarrass her, but they press on anyways, much to her dismay

Kali sometimes flirts with her boyfriends, or comments on how attractive they are, but she backs off when Blake latches onto your arm, and chuckles to herself, thinking how cute the two of you look. She often asks the two of you for a grandkid, which embarrases you both

Ghira tries his best to be physically intimidating to you, and it works for the most part. However, he only does it because he wants to make sure you're strong enough to defend Blake, and he makes off right away when he sees that you are. The greatest praise he ever gave to one of Blake's boyfriends was to you when he says, ' I like him.'

When Blake meets your family, she's very calm through the entire thing. She's realistic enough to know that they may not like her and that you won't leave her because of them. However, she does try to limit her sarcasm and does her best to open up to your family. Once she has, her calm demeanor drops, and then she starts to ask you all kinds of questions about them, making sure they really liked her.

Yang

She tends to introduce you to her parents early on, but only when she knows it's serious and has a chance to work out.

Ruby is the first member of her family that you meet, and you and Yang share a laugh at her trying to intimidate you.

When you meet Tai, he tries his best to outdo you in contests of strength, and he also plays his overprotective dad card. Yang watches with curiosity as he does, wondering how you'll react to it. If you don't back down, then the two of them are happy with you, and that's the last bit of threatening they bother to lob your way.

Yang introducing you to her mother is complicated for her. She considers Summer to be her mother, but also wants a chance to get you to meet Raven. You talk to Summer at her grave, and help her in her quest to find Raven, promising yourself you're going to give Raven a lecture for leaving Yang the way she did

When she meets your family, Yang is confident through the entire thing. She doesn't dial back on anything, since she's confident in who she is. All Yang does is be herself, and she's very respectful and polite with your family. The one thing Yang makes sure happens is that your family knows the attraction you have for her goes beyond physical, and that she really does love you.

Winter

Winter knows meeting her family is going to be difficult, and so she introduces them to you early on, since she knows the problem isn't going to go away. She also knows she isn't going to break up with you regardless of how they react, so it doesn't matter to her

Despite this, she still wants to ease you into it, so she starts with Weiss. How you interact with her is important, since Weiss is obviously very important to her and she will leave you if she thinks you're being rude to her sister

Meeting her parents scares you, and you do your best to use all your formal social skills. You know it isn't going to make much of a difference, but you still want them to like you, or at the very least not have a reason to dislike you.

Winter has the same attitude she would expect from you when it comes to meeting your parents. However, she does remind herself how important this is for the both of you as a couple, and she works hard to avoid falling back into her detached military persona. She wants your parents to know their son is with someone who truly cares about him.
