-Salem Pov-

I sighed when I sat around in my throne room, and then watched and listened as Emerald frantically explained to me what happened, the poor girl coming to the verge of tears as she told me the story of how she had found Cinder after an explosion of silver light, and then Cinder ending up being scarred. Apparently, Cinder could barely speak, and walking was far beyond her abilities at the moment. As Emerald explained it to me, I began to think to myself about what this meant for us, and what I would need to do to move forward with my plans for the world of Remnant.

If Ruby Rose awakened her silver eyes power, then it was going to be important to take her out as soon as possible. People with silver eyes had been the first to fight the Grimm, and so still held reservoirs of power into them. Most of the time, it wasn't a problem as they were kept in the shadows, unaware of the legacy they were a part of. Despite this, exceptions to the rule were always some of the most dangerous people in the world. Summer Rose for example, had been a big threat to us, and so she had to be taken off the board. Her daughter was going to provide us with the same problem if we weren't able to contain her.

Emerald finishes her story, and then I sigh to myself, and tell her to bring Cinder into the room. She nods, and then leaves the room, giving me time to think to myself about what exactly this means for us, musing to myself how I should have factored the silver eyes into my plan. Eventually, Cinder comes into the room, being carried by Emerald and Mercury, and then I raise my eyes slightly when I see just how terrible of a condition that she's in.

The right half of her face is scarred, the bandages covering it soaked red with blood. The damage didn't stop with her face, it was as though half her body had been mutilated. I gestured for them to bring her closer to me, which they do, and then I take the time to look at them, and wonder what they think of this. Emerald seems scared, about losing Cinder or perhaps being blamed by me or Cinder for this situation. Cinder herself seems more scared and vulnerable then I've ever seen her before, and even the sarcastic Mercury had nothing to say in this situation, he seemed unnerved himself.

I dismiss the two of them from the room, and then I place a hand to Cinder, and replace with her arm with a Grimm arm. This time, I'm careful to give it some abilities she can use to defend herself in the future, and then ensure  she can awaken them in time. From there, I begin the slow process of healing her. It's going to take some time for her to regain her full strength, but this is still the fastest way I can heal her, the fastest way anyone can heal her.

When I finish what I can do for today, I order her to stay close to me at all times so I can heal her, and then she nods. I call for Emerald and Mercury again, and then the two of them begin to escort her out of the room, leaving me alone to think once more about what this means. Even with Cinder damaged, she should still be one of the most powerful players on the board. Since Ruby only awakened her silver eyes out of anger, she won't be able to use them at will, meaning a Maiden is still more powerful than anything Ozpin has on his side.

The only worry I have is if Ruby learns to activate the power of the silver eyes when she chooses, which would make her much more powerful than even a Maiden. Even as far as the silver eyes go, she has power beyond the typical person with silver eyes, able to cripple a Maiden even on her initial use of the power. I think this to myself, and then Tyrian comes into the room frantically, bleeding from his head.

" Mistress Salem," he says in a panicked voice, and I raise my eye and signal with my hand to continue, and then he trips over himself to kneel before me. " There's someone here to see you. We all tried to stop him, but he's stronger than we expected, and forced his way through us. In fact, he's here right now." Before he can continue, the door explodes, and then I fire a bolt of red lightning at the figure in the smoke cloud. I see a green barrier form, and repel my lightning, and then I sigh again when I wait for the smoke to fade.
