While Sen Shuai sleeps on his lap, Sen Jia adds a new task to the scroll.

{Travel with family to cultivation sect.}

Sen Jia never bothered to remember the families name since they are just minor side characters he will never see again. They only need to escort the family until they drop the son off at the cultivation sect he will be training at. While traveling, they will talk about the events at the village and unknowingly give a hint about the culprits.

The next morning they have breakfast together with the small family. Sen Shuai is looking at the new "insight" on the scroll. He's not excited about traveling with anyone other than Sen Jia.

The young man in the family noticed the scroll and since the two men seem to be cultivators, he builds his courage to politely ask for some guidance.

Sen Jia appears to be contemplating, as though he is considering the request carefully.

{Seventh, I don't remember any cultivation mumbo jumbo, quick help me pull something out of my ass. It just needs to be suitably vague and spiritual sounding.}

No response.

{Seventh?}

Sitting next to him, Sen Shuai choked on the tea he had been sipping while ignoring everyone and appearing to be studying his scroll. Sen Jia glanced over at the sound and saw his comment to Seventh written on Sen Shuai's scroll.

Sen Jia was truly shameless and merely raised his eyebrows and gave Shuai a look that says, c'mon help me out.

Can't unboil the rice after all.

Sen Shuai whispers a few lines under his breath unobtrusively so no one notices he's even paying attention.

"As a new seedling entering a sect, be aware that one who points out your flaws is not necessarily your enemy; the one who compliments you is not always your friend."

The little family was suitably impressed and the father began to expand on the words to his son.

Sen Jia gave a thumbs up to Sen Shuai in his heart.

Hmm, sending messages through the scroll could be very handy. I'll increase little Shuai's access to the system so he can respond through the scroll too.

He immediately begins changing the settings as soon as he has the idea.

[I must protest Administrator.]

{What? Why? This is a great idea Seventh. It will be very convenient.}

[He is not bound by a system contract so there is nothing keeping him from destroying everything. A villain should not have free reign system access.]

{Seventh, you're being overdramatic. I'm giving him a teeny tiny bit of access, not "free reign."}

[Bind him to a system of his own.]

{Never! I won't hand my little Shuai over to some unknown system to raise. If anything, I'll bind him to me as my assistant.}

[Then do that before giving him access.]

{I'm not even giving him access really, just the minor ability to contact me.}

[Your making excuses.]

{And your nitpicking.}

[He's a true villain.]

{So what, lots of system operators are villains. He's not even the worst villain I've known.}

[He's a villain who you are giving partial system technician access to, not just system operator access. He could potentially work up to an Administrator and cause chaos.]

{I'll take responsibility. He won't suddenly reach that level without guidance. Little Shuai is a good seedling, very obedient, he wouldn't destroy the world.}

A/N A sudden promotion for little Shuai. Maybe he'll destroy the world.¯\_(ツ)_/¯
