When Bill nodded and began to lead him up the stairs, Ron, Y/n and Hermione all got to their feet to follow them. Bill took them into the room where the Goblin sat in an armchair, hands together. Bill then left shutting the door behind them.
"How are you?" Harry asked, obviously not wanting to make small talk to him at all.
"Alive." The bitter voice of Griphook answered back.
Harry turned to look at his three friends and gave them the sort of look that told them, that he knew getting information was not going to be easy.
"You probably don't remember-" Harry began but was cut off greatiously.
"That I showed you to your vault the first time you came to Gringotts?" The Goblin replied, "Even amongst Goblins you're famous, Harry Potter."
Harry walked across the room towards a window and took a quick glance out of it. He then turned back to Griphook to look him in the face as they spoke.
"You buried the elf." Griphook stated, "And brought me here. You are a very unusual wizard. How did you come by the sword?"
"It's complicated." Harry answered, "Why did Bellatrix Lestrange think it should be in her vault at Gringotts?"
"It's complicated." Griphook spat back.
Harry sighed and looked at Y/n who was glaring back at the Goblin. She then met eyes with Harry and nodded towards the sword. A silent signal telling him to tell him about how they found it.
"The sword presented itself to us in a moment of need. We didn't steal it." Harry told him, his tone more firm than before.
"There is a sword in Madam Lestrange's vault, identical to this one but it is a fake." Griphook answered, "It was placed there this summer, the replica is very convincing. Only a Goblin would recognise that this is the true sword of Gryffindor."
"Who is the acquaintance?" Hermione asked.
"A Hogwarts Professor. As I understand, he is now Headmaster." Griphook replied.
"Snape?" Y/n replied, "He put a fake sword in Bellatrix's vault? Why?"
The group of four shared curious looks. All of them confused by Snape's confusing actions. None of it made any sense at all.
"There are more than a few curious things in the vaults of Gringotts." Griphook hinted.
"And in Madam Lestrange's vault as well?" Harry urged.
"Perhaps." The Goblin whispered.
He sat back in his armchair looking at Harry curious, probably questioning whether he should trust Harry with this information. Y/n saw the excitement take over Harry's eyes after he had heard such great news. But his face didn't show it at all.
"I need to get into Gringotts. Into one of the vaults." Harry told the Goblin.
"This is Impossible." Griphook spat.
"Alone, yes." Harry agreed, "But with you, no."
The goblin sat back into the chair again and locked his hand together. He took a deep breath as though he was thinking deeply about something. It was not going to be pleasant either, due to the usual Goblin traits.
