Y/n and Draco walked back into the house, hand in hand. And to their surprise, people had already started to arrive. Moonshine Mansion was bustling with familiar wizard families that were mingling together.

"I'm going to go find my mother and father." Draco mumbled into his fiancé's ear. Planting a small kiss on her temple.

"You won't be long, will you?" Y/n asked, looking up at the taller boy.

"Of course not. Just making sure they're staying out of trouble." Draco reassured her.

Y/n nodded, and with a quick peck to the cheek, Draco had disappeared into the crowd. Y/n didn't move for a while, taking in all of the faces that were surrounding her. She was glad that none of them had paid any attention to her yet.

She began to wander through the mansion, avoiding everyone's eye contact for now. She noticed her mother had moved all the food from the kitchen, and put it into the ballroom, where it seemed the majority of the guests were gathered.

"Well well well, if it isn't the Birthday Girl.Y/n Malfoy!" She heard a familiar voice call out from behind her.

She couldn't help but grin, as she whipped around to be greeted by two very familiar friends. The ginger boy beamed down at her, as well as Hermione who was clung to his arm.

"I'm so glad you guys could make it!" She pulled them both into a hug, squeezing them tightly, "but not so fast Ronald, I'm not exactly a Malfoy yet!"

"I can't believe you're taking that Git's last name!" Ron rolled his eyes.

Hermione responded on Y/n's behalf, slapping Ron in the chest. Ron let out a deep breath and rubbed the spot that had been attacked. He frowned down at Hermione as she glared back up at him.

"I'll have you know Weaslebee, that I did in fact offer to take the Moonshine name. But y/n wanted to do it the traditional way." Draco's voice rang out, as y/n felt an arm go around her shoulder.

Draco lingered next to her, staring at Ron with a blank expression. Hermione's eyes widened a little bit, and her eyebrows knitted. She shared a look with y/n.

Ron didn't look impressed at all, however when y/n looked up to silently warn Draco, he responded again, without acknowledging Y/n's scowl.

"However, I am also delighted to hear about you and Granger. It's about bloody time. As well as Potter and your sister. Y/n and I are very happy for you all." Draco told Ron, squeezing Y/n closer to his side.

Ron and Hermione looked bewildered, as they stared at Draco blankly. They then looked down to y/n momentarily before taking a large gulp.

"Uh, well thank you Malfoy." Ron finally spat out, "Congratulations on the engagement."

"Thank you. Now I'm sorry but I'm going to steal Y/n for a while, we have guests to greet." Draco dismissed them.

He looked down at Y/n and shot her a small smile. She could tell he was trying to be on his best behaviour tonight and she couldn't help but smile back at him. She threw a small wave at Ron and Hermione, before Draco pulled her away.

The two wandered through the crowds for a little while, receiving congratulations and Happy Birthday from a lot of people. They had stopped at the food table to grab a small bite to eat, not noticing the person pushing through the crowd to get to them.

"Hey Drakey!" A sickly sweet voice rang out.

Y/n almost choked on the food in her mouth, before she turned around. Pansy stood in front of them with the most horribly sweet smile on her face, fluttering her eyelashes at the couple. However what shocked Y/n and Draco the most, was her chosen date for the party.
