Chapter 63 Mission impossible

(Avi's POV)

"Ashley, please!"  I knocked her door a few more times.

She didn't reply me, it's just silent.

"Ashley!!!"  I yelled.

What if she tries to hang herself in there...?  

I started panicking as awful thoughts of losing her keep flowing up into my mind.

I pressed my ear against the door.  

I heard her sound.  She's still there, but she's crying.

"I won't leave until you open the door..."  I said.

I don't know what's happening to her, but I just wanna help.

I heard footsteps coming towards the door, and the door knob turned.

Ashley opened the door.

"Baby, tell me what's wrong..please?"  I asked in concern.

Tear stains on her face, she looked really sad.

"I'm sorry Avi..I hurt you."  She cried.

"You didn't."  I said as I held up my hands.

I was going to put my hands on her shoulders, but she stepped back, so I missed.

"Yes, yes I did."  She pointed at my neck, I can't really see it myself though.

I raised my hand up and touched the spot she pointed, it stung just a little.

"It's best that we...don't touch each other..for a while."  She said, her bottom lip trembled.

"But ...why?"  I asked.

"Don't ask, just let's not touch for a while."  She said quickly.

"It would be the hardest thing ever.."  I said unwantedly.

"I know, for me, too.  But please give me some time."  She said.

I looked at every inch of her carefully.  How can I not touch her? That's mission impossible.

I was thinking about cuddling with her til she fall asleep tonight...

But that's what she ask for, I'll try, at least.  She needs time, and I understand that.

"Okay.  I won't touch you."  I said.  I already miss her touch, and the touch of her skin.

"Okay, then good night, Avi."  She said.

It's like she wanted me to leave.  She wanted to be alone.

"Good night."  I turned around to leave.

"I love you."  She said.

"I love you too."  I looked over my shoulder to gave her a smile.

She smiled back weakly.

(Mitch's POV)

The next morning after Ashley was rescued, Avi and I came to the police station with her.

I noticed a change between them.

They did talked in the car, but not as often.  

I was driving, and they sat in the back.  

They left an empty seat between them, which is really odd.  They should have sat together.

After the car's parked, we got out of it and started to head to the station.

They were walking side by side.  

The weird part is, I saw that Avi was going to held her hand, he reached for it.  But he hesitated, and ended up not doing it.  And I saw the sadness on his face.

Then I remembered something.  

Last night I thought that they were totally gonna do it while I'm in the house.  But they ended up didn't, they didn't even talk after 9.

I was thinking about testing out how good the soundproof of my new headphone is.  Oh well.

I don't know what's happening to them...did they fight?
