Chapter 5
Niall's POV // You're the One That I Want

After making a complete and utter fool of myself multiple times tonight, I seem to be on the path to redemption.

While Nora and Beck continued talking on the back porch, Evie and I have been comfortably lounging in her living room for the last hour or so.

Having not eaten much of her dinner, Evie suggested it was time for snacks and after a quick trip to the kitchen she came back with a bowl of popcorn for us to share.

You can't eat popcorn without watching a movie, and after discovering she and I shared a favorite movie, Grease, she put it on.

It's pushing close to 3am, when I feel Evie slowly sink into the couch before her head rests on my shoulder and I realize she's asleep.

I'm proud as punch and quite chuffed with myself. I thought I had royally screwed everything up for a while there tonight, but I couldn't ask for the evening to go any better.

It's funny because I've been to parties where girls have thrown themselves at me and would have tried to do something like this (or more) at the end of the night, just to say they did it. But I know that Evie isn't like that. Well I don't really know that, because I don't really know anything about her...but she's different, I can feel it.

I mean I admitted that I was flirting with her and I thought she was rejecting me, so her falling asleep just to have an excuse to get close to me doesn't seem like her goal here.

I pull the blanket off of the arm of the couch and drape it over her, tucking it up close to her.

I take a risk, moving my arm around her. When she stirs I think i've screwed up again for sure, but instead of waking up more moving away, she snuggles closer to my side and I think my heart might just explode.

Beck's POV

From the way Evie talked about Nora, I knew she was pretty great...but nothing could have prepared me for how incredible the woman sitting next me is.

We hit it off right away tonight, and I haven't been able to leave her side since.

I want to hear everything she has to say, and after the rest of our friends left tonight I wasn't ready to leave so she and I stayed to talk some more.

We exchanged stories about places we've visited and things we've experienced and even shared a few stories about Evie that she would kill me for.

I can't speak for Nora, but judging by the smile that hasn't left her face all night and how it matches the one on mine, I think she's enjoying this as much as I am.

Nora lets out a yawn, covering her perfect pink lips.

"It's getting late." I admit, regretfully.

"I know, but I was enjoying this so much that I didn't want to say anything." She giggles, looking up at me wither sparkling blue eyes.
