Chapter 45
Evie's POV // There You Are
"Should we get your bags first, Evie?" Harry asks, pointing to the luggage pick up while I'm looking around for a crowd of girls or any indication of Niall.
Honestly, i'm so pre-occupied with finding Niall that I couldn't care less about my luggage right now.
I fumble with my phone trying to call Niall, and when I do he doesn't answer. I call Tara, no answer there either. I groan in frustration and Harry let's out a sigh as he gently places his hand on my shoulder.
"Come on. Let's get your bag and then we'll find him." He says kindly, as if he's read my thoughts.
I nod in response to him as he leads the way to the luggage carousel.
Once we arrive at the carousel, we wait and wait and wait until there are only a few bags left going round and round. We've waited about 45 minutes and my bag still hasn't arrived and with still no sign of Niall I'm downright frustrated.
We talk to the airport staff regarding the luggage issue and the best they offer is that we wait just a little longer. We do as suggested before asking again and receiving no help from them. Eventually they ask me to fill out a missing luggage report, saying they will call me if they find it.
I still can't get Niall to answer his phone and i'm on the verge of tears from frustration.
Poor Harry has to deal with my emotional mess as I collapse into a puddle of tears. He just let's me rest my head on his shoulder and pats my back. I'm sure this isn't in his job description.
"I'm sorry, Evie...I'm sure it will turn up." He says encouragingly.
"I know..." I cry, which is embarrassing and childish but happening none the less. "I'm just frustrated.
"Um...Evie what doe your bag look like again?" He asks quizzically.
"Gray suitcase, hot pink heart sticker on the side and a holographic luggage tag." I describe for the thousandth time today.
"Is that it?" He asks. I look up to see him pointing across the airport.
I wipe my eyes, squinting to see where he's pointing. I see my suitcase next to a man in a navy blue ball cap and sunglasses, looking around the airport.
"Yeah, but..."I stop my self just before I can ask who that man is and why he has my luggage. I know exactly who it is.
I sprint across the airport without giving Harry an explanation, but he is quick on my heels.
Niall looks up and his face beams with that smile that i've been dying to see in person since the last time I saw him 3 weeks ago.
