Chapter 22
Evie's POV //
After leaving Jaxon outside I re-enter the party, in great need of finding my boyfriend as soon as possible.
I scan the crowd, my eyes landing on the familiar dark colored quiff sticking up over a few other heads. I let out a subconscious sigh as relief washes over me once again at the sigh of him.
I feel safe with Niall. I feel secure with him. I know everything is ok with him and right now, everything is not ok and I just need to get to him so he can make everything ok again.
I don't care who sees, or who finds out about us, or literally anything else but getting to him. I know the second I make contact with him, i'll be ok again.
Part of me feels like I could break down crying on the spot, but my hatred for crying in front of people and the fact that this is a business event reminds me that this isn't the time of place to do that.
For being the first time i've seen Jaxon since the breakup, I think you could say that it went as well as could be expected. No fists were thrown, voices were only minimally raises, and so far no tears have been shed. So in the grand scheme of things, it didn't go as bad as it could have.
Niall catches sight of me walking up to him, and thankfully extends his arm to welcome me to his side which I immediately cling to, not even taking time to make note of who he's talking to when I do.
He must have noticed that I clung to him a little tighter than usual, as he pauses his conversation and looks at me like I am the most important thing in this moment.
"You ok?" He asks quietly, his concerned eyes staring right into mine as if to find the source of the problem.
I look up to him and nod, not trusting my voice to lie and say i'm fine.
"Who is this, Niall?" A voice interrupts us, pulling us back to the room full of people and reminding us it's not just the two of us here.
I look over to find none-other-than Simon Cowell standing in front of me. I've had the pleasure of meeting some big names from the music industry, but this is a first for me.
I look back up at Niall who is smiling at me proudly.
"Simon, this is my girlfriend Evie." He says with a beaming smile as we both turn back to Simon.
"I wasn't aware you were seeing anyone, Niall. Lovely to meet you, Evie." Simon says, shaking my hand.
"Like wise." I nod, smiling at Simon.
"It's a fairly recent development." Niall jokes.
"But I trust you've alerted your management?" Simon asks and I can't help a slight chuckle.
