Chapter 23
Evie's POV // Coffee
I stretch out in my bed, as the warm sunlight shines through the windows of my bedroom. This is the first morning this week that i've woken up after sunrise and gotten to savor this feeling against my skin.
I blink my eyes sleepily, cuddling back into my warm cocoon. I feel like i'm living in a dream.
My mind is content and at ease, and the butterflies in my stomach haven't stopped since I opened my eyes. I'm happy.
And he's here.
While my thoughts of euphoria have been purely in my head up until now, remembering that Niall is only a couple rooms over causes me to break into a full blown smile.
I'm so extremely happy to be with Niall, and while it might be strange that we didn't spend last night together, I'm a bit relieved. Of course I want to, but...that's just another piece of myself that's going to take some time before i'm ready to give away again. I trust Niall, I really do, I just don't want to rush into that part of our relationship until i'm ready.
I see that the time is 8am and I decide I should probably pull myself out of bed, grab a cup of coffee, and start getting ready to go to breakfast with Niall.
I assume Niall is probably still asleep since we didn't get home until very late, but as I step into the hallway from my bedroom, I notice the guest room door is wide open. And unfortunately as I walk past the door I don't find a sleepy-bed-head-Niall laying in the bed.
A girl can dream right?
I sleepily pad through the quiet house, looking for my handsome house guest.
I find him standing in the kitchen, in what I assume is his favorite spot against the kitchen counter. He's scrolling through his phone and sipping his coffee and even though simple, it's the best thing i've ever seen.
He pulls the mug up to take a sip, but stops just before the rim touches him lips as a smile graces them instead when his eyes fall on me.
"Good morning." He smiles, setting his phone and mug down on the counter to welcome me into his arms, placing a sweet kiss on my lips.
"Good morning. I didn't think you would be up this early." I admit, thanking him as he hands me a mug of perfectly made coffee.
"I was too excited about today. Couldn't sleep." He admits with a chuckle and a shrug of his shoulders.
"Well have you posted it yet?" I ask, pointing to his phone with a wide smile on my face.
"I was actually just typing up a caption for the post. S'Gonna ask you what you thought?" He says, handing his phone to me.
