Chapter 50
Evie's POV // No Turning Back
We arrive in Dublin, being one of the first few off the plane, but once we're in the terminal I can tell Niall is thinking about something.
"Ok, now you're the one that's stuck up there...What's up?" I ask, tapping his forehead as he had done to me earlier.
"Just a second. Wait right here, ok?" He asks, and I nod watching him walk back towards the gate as our fellow passengers are filing off.
Then I see them and it all makes sense to me.
Mikayla and Cassi step off the plane, Mikayla getting excited all over again as she sees Niall and clamps her little arms around his waist.
I watch happily as he talks with them for just a moment.
He asks the flight attendant for a pen and paper and hands it to Cassi. She scribbles something down before handing it back to him.
Cassi is just about in tears and I see her try to protest, but Niall dismisses it. He sends them both off with hugs and walks back to me.
"What's that about?" I smile proudly at him, having an idea of what he's just done.
"I told them I'd like to have them at one of the shows when I tour." He smiles bashfully, not wanting to make a big to-do about it but knowing that for Cassi and Mikayla it was no small feat. "I just got Cassi's contact information so I can get her the tickets when the time comes..." He shrugs.
"Cassi...she just told me that she's a single mum and her and Mikayla have had a rough go of it this year..." He says, obviously touched by there story. "They live in London now, but they're moving back to Dublin to live with her mum. She said this is the best thing that's happened for them in a while..." He explains, taken away by the impact of it all.
"Niall. That's...amazing." I encourage, blown away by his generosity.
"It's the least I could do to put some joy in there lives. It makes me wish the shows were closer...or I even had the album finished." He chuckles weakly.
"You're working as hard as you can, Niall. It'll be here soon enough." I nod. "Shall we get going?" I ask, pecking him on the cheek as we begin to walk.
We're in our car in no time flat, Tara calling ahead to make sure all arrangements were made so our time in the airport would be kept to a minimum since we decided to go without security.
We're quickly on the road from Dublin to Mullingar, starting off on the hour long journey through the Irish country side that will lead us to his parents.
I'm taken by the beautiful scenery as Niall skillfully drives through the curving roads. I can immediately tell how happy he is to be here. There's this different glow to him and it's something I can only attribute to him being back at his roots.
