Chapter 54
Evie's POV // I Love You So

"So how much of that did you hear?" I smile up at him, with both palms flat against his chest and his hands on my waist.

"Enough." He smirks.

"I don't want you to think i'm rushing this...I just...I didn't know what to say to him." I ramble, mildly embarrassed that I just told a 5 year old that I wanted to marry his uncle...while his uncle was standing at the door listening.

"I know." He nods.

I can't read the emotion on his face now. He's forcing a smile, but it's like something is pulling at him. That look wasn't there a moment ago.

"Niall..." I speak softly, rubbing my thumb along his jaw as I cup his face in my hand.

"Did you mean it though?" He asks, not looking at me.

Oh.

"Niall look at me." I ask gently. "Baby, you have to know that for the first time in a very long time I'm actually able to dream of the future again. And I dream of a future with you. I never thought I would allow myself to dream again, because i'm afraid of getting hurt...but I do love you. And I see myself with you for a very long time." I explain, looking lovingly into his blue eyes.

I love him so much.

"Of course I want to marry you. But we don't need to rush into that just because Theo asked." I giggle. "We've still got a lot to figure out about us."

Mostly the fact that you're about to travel around the world for a year or more and I don't know if you even want me there.

"I love you, Evie."

"I love you too, Niall. So, so much." I smile, pushing up onto my toes to kiss him.

"I'm sorry. I know how you feel about us, and I know it's hard for you to think about the future. I know we're ok it's just...when Theo said that it made everything i've been thinking about seem more real."

"You think about a future with me?" I ask in disbelief, trying to force back the tears that want to fall from my eyes.

"I do." He nods, confidently. "I didn't want to freak you out, so I didn't say anything. I mean I know we haven't been together that long, but...I just feel like when you know, you know."

I nod in response, words left me along time ago.

"Having you here with my family, and then tucking Theo in together...just made it that much more real."

"I'm not going anywhere. We've got a lot of time to figure out the future. When the time is right...my answer will be yes."

He smiles and I can tell it comes straight from his heart. I love when he smiles this wide, because it means he's truly so excited he can't contain himself.

I caused that smile.

How can anyone love me this much? How can I love anyone this much?

I was broken. I was the one who wasn't supposed to be able to love again.

He put me back together again. He makes me feel like i'm the most important thing in the world. Of course I would say yes to him. Over and over again. I would follow him to the end of the earth and back again.
