Chapter 67
Evie's POV // Family Table

Niall and I made our way down stairs, only to be chastised by the rest of my family for how late we slept in.

Beck and Nora throw out some obviously inappropriate jokes, and I was mortified when my precious baby sister even laughed at them. She'll always be like 6 years old to me. In my mind she's still supposed to think boys have cooties, and she's definitely not supposed to know what sex is let alone laugh at jokes about it.

Despite Niall and I standing firm on our cover story that we were just sleeping in late this morning, the jokes still continued. It wasn't a lie...we were just sleeping...this morning anyway. I never said anything about last night.

The only saving grace is that they kept their jokes out of earshot of my parents. They aren't dumb i'm sure, but I would be mortified if they heard any of this.

Beck, Nora, and Emma snapped out of their giggles as soon as my parents walked into the dining room and we all enjoyed a completely wonderful breakfast together as a family.

In contrast to me, my mom is an amazing cook. That gene must have skipped me.

After breakfast, we tidy up and refill our coffee cups before heading to the living room to open presents.

Dad bought mom a beautiful pair of earrings. She bought him a new power tool and as usual I have no idea what it's purpose is.

Beck surprised Nora with tickets for a trip to India in a couple months, as that's the one place from her year abroad that she's always talking about. Nora gave beck a fancy new camera, because on top of all of the things Beck has on his plate already...he wants to learn photography.

She says it will be perfect to document their trip as well, and I can't help but smile as I watch the two of them interact. They're so obviously in love that you'd have to be blind not to see it. With all of the talk Niall and I have been having about marriage, I begin to wonder when Beck will pop the question.

Beck and Nora have been together just as long as Niall and I have, but somehow I see Beck popping the question long before Niall does. That's not saying anything derogatory about Niall, their relationship has just moved fast than ours. I mean Nora is moving in with him for heaven's sake. I wouldn't be surprised if he asked her tomorrow.

A few years ago I would have never expected my sister to take part in a whirlwind relationship or even fathom the idea of her getting engaged when she's barely known him for 6 months, but every time I watch them interact I am certain that they will spend the rest of their life together. And I know if he did ask her tomorrow, she would say yes without hesitation.

Emma is beside herself when it's finally her turn to give Niall her gift for him. She's practically giddy when he opens it and then reveals her matching one. Niall throws his head back in laughter and proudly puts it on. I think it's the cutest and I immediately pull my phone out to snap a photo of them. He's the 'best', she's the 'friend'.
