Chapter 60
Evie's POV // Welcome Home
It's nearly 2am.
Niall's flight was supposed to arrive at 5pm today, but after countless delays due to increasingly bad weather he is still not here.
My parents live about an hour away from Nora and I, and while that isn't that far away, I agreed to spend the whole weekend with them since we are doing a Christmas/Thanksgiving combo celebration. —Well, I guess I agreed that Niall and I would spend the whole weekend with them.
I hadn't really thought it through when I agreed to it, but Niall wasn't the least bit upset when I told him. He's really excited to meet them, and he made sure to add that he was fine with wherever I was.
The plan for tonight was for Niall to arrive, us to have dinner and then the entire family would go pick out a Christmas tree together to decorate tomorrow.
With Niall's flight being delayed, I decided to stay home while the rest of the family went out, since we didn't know when he would arrive and someone had to be here to let him into the house.
And also, I wasn't going to not see him the second he arrived. What kind of girlfriend would I be?
Well the family left and came back and put the tree up and had dessert and went to bed....and Niall still isn't here.
I'm trying not to pout but...
"You're pouting." Nora states as she walks down the stairs in her pajamas.
She and Beck are also staying at our parents this weekend. Mom and Dad are excited to have all of their kids (and their plus ones) here. My mom loves it when everyone is home.
"Of course I am." I laugh weakly, throwing my head back on the couch dramatically.
"Still no words from him huh?" She asks, sitting down next to me on the couch and propping her head up with her arm.
"Nope." I sigh. "Not since he landed in New York and found out about the delay anyway..."
This reminds me of a night once upon a time, where a certain little Irishman hadn't even asked me on our first date yet. That seems like so long ago, but it's only been a few months.
Sometimes I forget I haven't known him forever. I'm so happy he's in my life.
"There's a pretty intense snow storm up there right now." I explain.
"I saw that on Twitter. They said they were working as hard as possible to get where they needed to be before thanksgiving."
"I know. I'm just excited for him to get here." I shrug.
