Chapter 58
Evie's POV // You're Gorgeous.
After that kiss, we pretty much abandoned the ice cream.
It's fine. I enjoyed what we did better anyways.
We've spent the rest of our weekend cozied up in our cabin, keeping each other well occupied.
I woke up from a nap yesterday to hear Niall downstairs writing and playing his guitar. I love waking up to that.
I was happy to pear over the railing of our loft and watch him for a few minutes before I made my presence known.
We spent a little while curled up by the fire while Niall made it his mission to play a sampling of all of my favorite songs that I could list for him.
This weekend was perfect. Just us.
Now we're on our way back to reality. London.
I fly back to my real reality tomorrow night. We're undoubtably feeling a little sad.
I'm sitting passenger side, with his hand in mine and admiring his face.
It's like i'm trying to engrain him in my brain to hold me over until I see him again. But that's crazy because there is no way I could ever forget him.
The soft smile on his face breaks into a laugh out of nowhere.
"What's so funny?"
"You've been staring at me for half an hour. Not even sure if you've blinked." He smiles, glancing over at me before looking back at the road.
"I can't help it. You're gorgeous." I pretend to pout.
"Not really fair when I can't stare back at you." He quips, kissing my knuckles.
Butterflies. He still gives me butterflies every time he kisses any part of me, or looks at me, or says anything even remotely sweet to me.
"I'm trying to soak you up to hold me over until I see you again."
"Won't be that long will it?" He asks.
"Well we haven't made a plan yet...but I did have an idea."
"Of course you've already thought of a plan." He chuckles, knowing that I am very OCD when it comes to planning. "Tell me."
"The holidays are coming up..." I start, biting my lip a bit, but stop because that's my tell that i'm nervous about something.
Why am I nervous? I'm sure he'll say yes.
"I'm excited to spend them with you." He smiles widely, sparkling eyes glancing at me and kissing my knuckles again.
"Me too." I smile, my cheeks warming up as I blush at his words.
How does he always do that?
"So what did you have in mind?" Niall asks.
"Well, I was thinking maybe you could spend Thanksgiving with me and then we can spend Christmas with your family?"
"Really? You want to spend Christmas with my family?" He asks in surprise, as if I wouldn't want to.
"Of course...and I want you to be able to spend Christmas with them. I know that's important to you." I explain, recalling old interview where Niall would talk about Christmas being the only time he would be able to go home to his family.
"I mean if you think they'll want me there." I add, quickly panicking that I've over stepped.
"Oh of course they do!" Niall speaks up quickly, reassuring me.
I truly loved getting to know his family and can't wait to see them again.
"But what about your family?" He asks.
"Well I want you to meet them..." I trail off, proper biting my lip now.
"I want to meet them." Niall confirms, a wide smile spreading on his face. He's definitely not as nervous as I was about meeting his parents.
I mean he's met them over FaceTime, but we barely even knew each other then. Spending days with them will be different than a brief FaceTime call.
"We'll do a Thanksgiving/Christmas combo dinner with them then?" I ask.
"Sounds perfect. I can't wait." He smiles. He's really excited about this.
My heart.
"I'm excited." I smile. "They'll love you."
"I hope so." He shrugs.
Oh they will, Niall. You've brought their daughter back to life...how could they not love you?
