I didn't really have to do much to prepare for the baby shower, Marissa told me to sit back and just relax, and when she said that, I didn't know there would be this many people at the banquet hall. I didn't even know half these people, they were her people. So many random people have touched my belly so far. I really wanted to swat there hands away. I don't like people touching me without asking.
"Wowww, you're like a pumpkin!" A white woman says as she hands me a gift bag. I guess she avoided the table filled with pink bags and clothing. I thank her and smile.
"I'm Marissas youngest sister," she smiles. I begin to feel bad because I totally just rolled my eyes at her when she touched my belly.
"Oh, nice to meet you!" I say as I embrace her with a hug.
"Your cupcakes were really good, I had a red velvet one, do you have your own bakery?"
"No, but it's a dream of mine," I chuckle as I gush at the fact someone acknowledges my cupcakes, well my baking in general.
"If you brought this idea to my table, I'll invest in it." I raise my eyebrows intrigued.
"Townies Brownies?" I throw out my bakery name and it makes her chuckle.
"That's your name?" She raises a sharp eyebrow and I nod. She gives me this "impressed" facial expression and I grin.
(Charley's sweet tooth)
"Needs a little bit of work but I support it, here's my business card." She goes into her pocket and pull out her wallet and hands me her card. I stare shocked at it.
"Did Marissa put you up to this?" I question astonished and a bit skeptical. She shakes her head as she ruffles her long curly hair.
"Not really, I mean she told me you baked them when I yelled out "HOLY SHIT, THIS IS THE BEST CUPCAKE I'VE EVER TASTED." I gushed even more.
"You didn't say that," I playfully state and her eyes widen.
"Of course I did, wanna ask her?" She tried to go and retrieve her but I pull at her wrist.
"Okay, okay, you said it." I giggle playfully and the girl lips curl into a huge smile. It's beautiful by the way.
"You look good in yellow!" Someone cheers and I turn around only to become race to face with Jamie and Justina, both holding huge grins.
"You guys came!" I exclaim.
"Of course we did, couldn't miss it for the world," Jamie grins as she hugs me tightly. I did in fact just see-her a couple weeks ago, but she always make it her mission to hug me as if this is our first time seeing each other in years.
"No, you seriously do look good in yellow!" Justina clarifies and I grin and nod.
"Thank you both, you look good in black Justina and you look good in red Jamie," I grin.
"So who is your friend?" Jamie questions with raised eyebrows and a smirk. I turn to see that the girl is still standing there. I also realize she never stated her name, nor did Marissa. Marissa never told me about her sister or her name.
"Leanna," the girl speaks.
"But everyone calls me Lee," she smiles and extends a hand out to Justina and Jamie. Both of the ladies shake it while smiling up at the girl. Why are they smiling like that? It's so weird and creepy.
"Well we'll let you guys get back to talking, I see that dessert table and can't resist," Jamie speaks and Justina nods as they race off, not even letting me get a word out.
