((A/N) I've decided to put these two asks together. Since they have the same core :D Let's just say the 2k18 turtles are young Leo, young Donnie etc while the 2k14 /16 are the old ones. It's very confusing to be honest haha. Enjoy :) <3)
"DONNIEE", Raph growled for the 29486 time today.
Leo on the other hand sighed. He knew this was a bad idea, that Donnie should've never tested this ... machine. It was in the middle of the night. Donnie asked them to meet on a rooftop and now? Now they were stuck somewhere familiar and yet so different. Colorful, yet dark. Cold and warm at the same time. Like in a comic, it felt like they're all taken in by a different story. This was still New York though right?
"Where are we?", Mikey asked as if he could read his big brother's mind.
"Big Apple", Donnie gave back, still focused on his invention, "this should not have happened though. It wasn't supposed to send us to an alternative universe ..."
"Where then?", Leo wanted to know.
"Back in time", he gave back and shrugged.
"As if that makes anything better", Raph said.
"I .. I was just trying to fix our mistake you know ... I-I thought if we could go back in time...", Donnie started.
"It's fine Don", Leo told him after taking a deep breath, "just get us back asap, okay?"
The awkward silence settled in. No one knew what to do. What do say. What to look at. They've seen New York so many times and yet they thought they should have appreciated a little more.
"It's not that bad to honest. It's still our city, right?", Mikey said.
Leo nodded. Raph was grumpy but agreed as well.
"Now I just gotta", Donnie said and was rudely interrupted by some screaming.
"Who the fuck is that?", Raph asked.
"Language, Raph!", Leo said.
"Who the fucking fuck is that?", Raph grinned, knowing exactly what buttons to push.
All four of them went into ninja mode. They could not risk to be seen. No one knew how people would react to them. They decided to follow the screaming and noise and once they were close enough they saw ... four turtles.
"Pinch me please", Raph said, "OUCH NOT LITERALLY MIKEY!"
"Are they ... us?", Leo wondered.
"Could be. Probably in fact. It's a different universe not flashback", Donnie explained.
They looked so different though. Smaller, cartoonish. They all seemed to have fun.
"Let's go", Leo ordered and walked up to them.
"But Leo", Donnie protested, "they might be aggressive!"
"Do these kids look aggressive to you Don?", Leo countered.
As a matter of fact, the turtle who seemed to be Mikey was on a swing, laughing and enjoying life. The actual Mikey, or the Mikey familiar with the older turtles, loved this as well.
"Leo's right! Let's go", he yelled enthusiastically as he made his way down to the playground.
Given the fact that Leo was the leader, he figured he should be the one introducing themselves. He stretched himself a little, cracked his neck and nodded at his brothers, this is it.
"Hello?", he began but didn't make it further since the turtles just stopped in their motions and looked like they were caught by the police.
In fact they were almost running away but Leo could - thank God - stop them from doing so.
"We don't mean no harm ... we just need help", he explained.
"You ... you .. look like", the young purple clad turtle said.
"I'm Leonard. These are ...", he started.
"Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo?", the purple one concluded.
It felt so out of this world. 6ft tall turtles, human like almost, standing in front of smaller ones. Colorful, cartoonish ones.
"GODDAMMIT you're tall", a girl said.
"I was gonna say it April", young Mikey laughed and gave the girl a high five.
"April? Like ... our April?"
"You have an April too?", she wondered.
"Mhm. A bit taller than you though. And much older", older Mikey nodded.
"Can she whip someone's ass too?", April laughed.
"Well she'd never use that word that's for sure", old Leo mumbled.
On the other side, the two Raphs got the meet as well.
"Damn, and I though I was big", young Raph said.
"Should I take that as a compliment?", old Raph pandered and raised a brow.
"No", the other one gave back and grinned.
Another growl from Raph and Leo had to chime in.
"We just need some help, okay? Who's your leader?", he wondered and, of course, his gaze landed upon young Leo.
"Hey don't look at me, okay? I mean .. I am the best looking, that's for sure. But I am not the leader", he explained.
"You're not?", old Donnie yelped.
"Nope", young Leo smiled.
"Who is it then?", his counterpart wanted to know.
"Me!", the red clad boy said.
To young Raphs disapproval both old Mikey and Donnie laughed. They just couldn't believe it. Raph ... being the leader? Oh God.
"Anyway, I guess Donnie is still the smart one?"
"Still? Well thank God that didn't change", the genius proclaimed.
"We need help", his counterpart said.
"Let me have a look!"
"So uhm ... Raph. Can we get some shelter? Until this is over? We don't want to be seen. Not in our universe, not in this one. Please?", the blue masked leader asked.
"I guess", he shrugged, "but be aware of dad, okay?"
"You have a Splinter?", old Mikey yelled and clapped his hands, "is he anything like our dad?"
"Yeeeeeeeah I don't think so", April laughed.
Needless to say, the old turtles had quite the shock when they met the "new" Splinter. They literally wanted to leave as soon as possible and they hoped the two Donnie's were quick with the fixing.
