((A/N) I'm not sure I understood your question ... you were asking for what they felt / thought while being on patrol (or in an attack) and were injured, right? Or did you mean when they van home after a fight and being injured? I'm a little confused 😅 Anyway I wrote it for the first, aka they were injured while on patrol ... enjoy 💕)
To be quite fair their first thought was NOT you. Contrary to what some people might think their heads aren't only filled with you, your face, scent, body. No, currently they were injured and in so much pain. They wouldn't show it per se but they definitely were. The first initial reaction was to retreat and see what was actually going on: was it just a wound? A broken bone? A deep wound that needed stitching? Something way worse?! As soon as those questions were out of the way they started to think about you and how you were waiting for them. Granted, you knew that a patrol might have some surprises hence why they never gave you concrete time stamps to when they would be back, but still. You deserved to know. But how were they supposed to tell you without worrying you? Some more minutes passed by before they called and explained everything to you. They assured you that you didn't need to worry that everything will be fine. It's not as bad as it sounds like and / or it could have been way worse. You probably would not back down and even want to come and check for yourself (because they're just good at hiding pain). They'd try to be as gentle as possible, to not yell in pain, to not make you cry or sad. Trust them. Give them time, maybe an hour or two, for them to come home. You'll see that they're okay.
