They would play the "oh so hurt" dad. Maybe to get your baby to turn around and run to them. "You love your mom more than me", in a fake sobby tone. In all fairness you were surprised your child ran to you, you could have bet 5 bucks they would have run to their dad. He won't be mad in fact he might even completely understand it. He'd just be happy that your child is slowly learning to walk int he first place. Doesn't matter who she / he runs to. As long as he can have have all the snuggles later, he's okay with it.
