S O O - Y O U N G

"What are you doing here?!" I ask my father as I invite him into my apartment.

"I came for work and wanted to surprise you." He tells me.

"You should've informed me so that I could make some room for you." I pout.

"It's okay, Wonwoo is letting me stay at their place." He informs me.

"Wonwoo knew you were coming?" I ask.

He nods and I gasp while placing my hand over my chest dramatically, pretending to be offended. My dad chuckles at my reaction. The rest of the night we caught each other up on our lives while eating some takeout. Losing track of time, my dad decided to sleep here tonight and then go to Wonwoo's tomorrow morning.

That way, my dad could drop me off to work and then use my car to run errands. Though I did feel bad at the fact that he had to sleep on my couch. I insisted on giving up my bed for him to sleep in but, he declined the offer.

I woke up earlier than usual today because of the lingering aroma of kimchi. I tied my hair up into a ponytail before sliding my feet into my soft slippers and heading out to the living room.

I look towards the couch to see the blankets folded neatly on the coffee table and then, turning towards the kitchen to see my dad stirring something. I take a seat on the bar stool and he glances at me for a quick second.

"Oh, you're up!" He smiles.

"Did you sleep well?" I ask, worried that he was uncomfortable.

"Yes I did, don't worry." He gives me a reassuring look and I nod.

He transfers the food from the frying pan to a plate and my lips curl up into a smile. He made kimchi fried rice and stir-fried sausage, with vegetables. It was my favorite thing to eat for breakfast when i was little and my dad made the best kimchi fried rice ever.

I know it's not that hard to make but for some reason, his recipe was different. I'm still not sure what his secret ingredient is but, whatever it is, it brings the whole dish together.

[ a/n: If y'all watched the episode where Chanyeol made the stir-fried sausage for the twins on TROS, then that's what i'm referring to. ]
