Jihyo heard a knock at the door. "Jihyo, Mr. Kim is here," informed Soori.
"Oh, I thought he wouldn't be here until 50 minutes later," she remarked before adding, "Send him in, and thank you, Soori." Soori nodded and opened the door wider, signaling the taller man to enter and greeted him with a warm smile.
"Hello, Mr. Kim. Please, take a seat," Jihyo invited him to sit across from her. "You're early," she chuckled softly.
"Ah, yes, Miss Han. I got too excited that I arrived earlier than expected. Well, not exactly early, but certainly earlier than planned," Mr. Kim expressed, a wide grin stretching across his face.
Jihyo found herself unintentionally fixated on his dimples until she was snapped out of her reverie by his voice.
"Um, Miss Han?"
"O-oh... Yeah, sorry. I was just... Um, daydreaming, yeah. Just daydreaming," she chuckled nervously, trying to shake off her distraction.
"Ah, it's okay, I understand. Well, as you know, I'm here to adopt," Mr. Kim mentioned, his face displaying a slight smile while maintaining a serious tone.
"I'll guide you to meet them, and you can interact with them. Try to get to know them, and once you find that one child you feel you could love for life, then you shall-"
"Ah... I'm sorry, but I was planning to adopt... umm... 5 kids," he admitted, his smile slightly crooked.
"Wait- Wha- Are you- Five...?" Jihyo's mouth hung open in astonishment.
"Yep, five. I just said that," he chuckled, filling the office with laughter. Jihyo was momentarily lost in thought but quickly regained her composure, then focused her gaze on the man before her.
"Wow. I can't believe I'm going to have to say goodbye to five kids," Jihyo's voice quivered, but she composed herself, pushing aside her emotions to come to terms with the situation.
"Alright then. Follow me, I'll introduce you to them," she said, rising from her seat. Mr. Kim followed as they exited the office.
They arrived at the spacious playroom on the first floor, where the children were engaged in various activities like relaxing, playing, reading, or watching television. It was summer holiday, after all.
As Jihyo turned the doorknob and pushed the door open, all eyes in the room turned towards her and the man beside her.
Small hands waved in greeting as Jihyo entered. "Hello, sunshines," she greeted with a bright grin.
"This is Mr. Kim Namjoon. Soon, five of you will have the privilege of calling him father, daddy, dad, dada, or whatever you prefer. He's here to get to know each and everyone of you. Be nice, okay?" The children responded with a chorus of 'okay,' though not quite in sync.
Namjoon felt a tap on his thigh and looked down to see a child seeking his attention. He crouched down with a warm smile, asking, "Hello buddy. What's your name?"
"J-Jin.. Seok-seok..."
"Seokjin?"
The little one nodded almost imperceptibly. "Gosh, you're adorable," Namjoon gently pinched Jin's cheek, being careful not to hurt him. This gesture elicited a slight giggle from Jin, who then gave Namjoon a warm hug.
As Jin nestled into the embrace, feeling the comfort and warmth from the older man, Namjoon's hands found their place behind Jin's small back.
Jin was enjoying the hug when suddenly he felt a tap on his shoulder, realizing it wasn't Namjoon tapping him as both of Namjoon's hands were still behind his back.Breaking the hug, Jin turned to see who was tapping.
"Hobi! Hobi! Daddy... Warm," Jin exclaimed, pointing excitedly towards Namjoon, causing Hoseok's eyes to light up. Hoseok loves hugs.
"Want a hug too, little fella?" Hoseok nodded eagerly, prompting Namjoon to open his arms wide for the little one to come and embrace him.
Hoseok crawled towards Namjoon, embracing the larger man with his small arms.
"Awww... You're so nice to cuddle," Namjoon smiled, and Hoseok released the hug, leaving Namjoon to play with blocks in the corner.
Namjoon noticed two one-year-olds playing with a toy hammer in the opposite corner. He approached them and sat down, crossing his legs to create a circle with the children.
Taehyung crawled over and sat on Namjoon, playfully hitting him with his toy hammer.
"Yah, yah," Taehyung exclaimed as he tried to hit Namjoon as hard as he could, but it only resulted in giggles.
Meanwhile, Jimin was more reserved and shy. He timidly gazed down at his toy hammer, lightly tapping the ground. Recognizing Jimin's hesitation, Namjoon gently lifted Taehyung to his right thigh, ensuring he was secure with his right arm, while he carefully picked up Jimin and settled him on his left thigh.
At first, Jimin tried to wriggle free, but eventually, he relented and embraced Namjoon's warmth and friendliness.
"There you go, little buddy. You don't have to be shy, you know," Namjoon's dimples were on display as he sweetly smiled at the toddler.
Suddenly, he was startled by a weight behind him, as if someone was hanging onto his back. Before long, he felt a pair of small arms, almost resembling Snow White's fair skin, wrap around his neck. He attempted to catch a glimpse of the child, but it was challenging to tilt his head, especially while holding onto two kids.
"Hey, kiddo... why don't you show yourself in front of me here?" Namjoon gently encouraged, but unfortunately, there was no response, just the arms lingering around him.
He carefully set down Jimin and Taehyung to check. As he turned around, he finally saw who it was.
"Oh! You want a hug too?" Namjoon exclaimed as Yoongi swiftly took off, leaving Namjoon bemused by his own words.
"Mmm... okay, ouch... but he was adorable," Namjoon murmured to himself before turning back to see the toddlers still engrossed in playing with their toy hammer. Namjoon decided it was time to leave, having already felt the connection with a child he would love to adopt.
Exiting the playroom, Namjoon made his way back to Miss Jihyo's office. Acting as a gentleman, he knocked on the door before entering, waiting for Jihyo's permission to come in.
Jihyo welcomed him in, and he settled in the same spot he had occupied a few minutes ago.
"So... you've made your choices already?" Jihyo asked.
He nodded.
"Oh, wow... That was quick. So... who would you like to adopt?" Jihyo asked.
"I would love to adopt the tallest one who looks like a prince, the one with the bright smile, the two one-year-olds who are close to each other, and the one with Snow White skin."
