The second event was the cavalry battle.
Midnight had just finished explaining the rules, and the twist this time around was that there was going to be a point system based on the rankings from the first event.
Since you placed fourth, you had a decent amount of points, but it was nowhere near the ten million points Midoriya would have at the start of the battle.
Once the timer began, signaling that the lot of you only had fifteen minutes to build teams, you frantically shook your head to the left and right, having no idea who you were going to team up with.
You became a little less anxious once you caught sight of Todoroki, who had a purposeful look and was striding over in your direction.
"I don't know what quirks you all have!" Your ears perked up, hearing Bakugo shout.
You shot your head over to where you heard his voice, but it was difficult to see him past the group that was gathered around him, begging him to let them be on his team. You started to freak out internally when you saw Bakugo pushing through and ignoring them, making a beeline towards you. At this rate, you calculated that Todoroki and Bakugo would reach you at the same time, but in all honesty, you would much rather prefer it if you didn't have to choose which one of their teams you wanted to be on.
It would be perfect if you three could form part of a team together. In fact, you guys would most likely be unstoppable, but you had a teeny gut feeling that there was no way in hell they'd be OK with being on the same team as each other. Just before any of them could get to you, you jumped, almost biting your tongue when you felt a tap on your shoulder.
"Hey y/n-chan, d-did you want to be on my t-team...? After all, I think you deserve half these points...and we worked so well together the last r-round..." You turned, a gentle smile claiming your face once you saw Midoriya in front of you.
He looked nervously down at his hands, fearing that he would be rejected by you too since everyone else so far was avoiding him like the plague.
You didn't even think about points or how big a target you would become if you teamed up with him, because anything was better than having to pick between the two boys who you saw were still stalking over towards your direction. You squealed and threw your arms around Midoriya's neck with delight, making him gasp in surprise.
"Thanks for saving me!"
"Huh?" Midoriya tilted his head, half confused and half dazed, his eyes swirling because a girl was hugging him.
With your arms still wrapped around him, you subtly motioned towards Todoroki and Bakugo with a nod of your head.
They had stopped in their tracks a few feet away from you on opposites ends and were watching you and Midoriya with some seriously peeved looking faces.
