Chapter 49: Odd

The good news, in an amazing and unbelievable turn of events...Todoroki, Midoriya, and Iida were able to knock out the Hero Killer, Stain.

Bad news, they were all admitted into the hospital with some serious injuries and were sworn to secrecy. Never to reveal that they were the true heroes, instead of Endeavor, who ended up getting all the credit and was publicized for being the one that put a stop to Stain.

"Y-You...three were the ones that actually defeated Stain?!" You went bugged eyed, your e/c orbs nearly bulging out of their sockets.

You almost dropped the 'Get Well Soon' bouquet of flowers in your hands. You had chosen to get one huge bouquet that had a mix of different flowers and colors instead of three separate bouquets. You were simply on the way to visit the three boys in the hospital after what was now deemed as the 'Hosu Incident' was resolved. You were thanking your lucky stars that you didn't wind up with severe injuries like they had, only a few scrapes.

It was considered a miracle, especially after going toe-to-toe with a few Nomus, who you discovered while fighting them, had an Absorption and Release Quirk that rendered your flames useless against them.

You swore never to tell Todoroki that because you wanted to spare his feelings. You could already sense the heavy guilt he harbored for leaving you when he had called you from the hospital.

And if he were to find out he left you essentially defenseless against the Nomus, he'd probably lose it or never forgive himself.

But now, as you stood there in the doorway of their shared hospital room, still in shock from listening in on how they were the ones that took down the Hero Killer, the three boys gaped back at you before Midoriya hobbled over to you, being that his leg was still recovering.

"SHHH! Please keep your voice down, y/n-chan!" Midoriya begged, weakly slapping a hand over your mouth since his arm was still tightly wound in bandages.

He tried his best to keep you from repeating your sentence while Iida, who was severely injured, remained at his spot on the bed while crying out similar pleas as the greenette.

Todoroki had silently stalked his way over to you at that time, ignoring your glazed state. He took the bouquet out of your hands, placing it on top of the only table in the room before you even had time to process that he had taken it in the first place. Inwardly, he was still a bit heated, coming down from his angered state.

The chief of police had come in only moments ago, telling them that they were in trouble and being reprimanded for using their Quirks and not being thanked for saving the pro Hero, Native.

Todoroki had immediately and vehemently voiced his feelings against what he thought was injustice against them. He had only started to calm down when there was a deal made to report to the public that Endeavor saved the day instead of them so that they wouldn't be outed and punished for breaking the law.

It was unfair that they wouldn't be getting the praise they deserved, but knowing they had done the right thing, for now, that was enough for them.

As for you, after over-hearing their conversation, you assumed you only got off scot free because amidst the people running away and the madness, there were only a few people who witnessed you use your Quirk to defend against the Nomus and extinguish the random fires.

It also made a lot of sense now as to how and why the boys were this badly injured, because they were the true heroes.

After a minute when you seemed to have quieted and calmed down, you slowly removed Midoriya's hand from your mouth. Your eyes were transfixed, never faltering from Todoroki's form.
