Turquoise and grey eyes flashed to the empty seat next to him for what seemed like the hundredth time today.
Aizawa had given the class free time to study or catch up on whatever assignments they needed to finish since finals were coming up very fast. It seemed like it was just an excuse for Aizawa to take a nap though, the dark circles underneath his eyes were exaggerated more than usual today, probably from him having to drag himself out of bed last night.
Todoroki sighed, dropping his pencil and shutting his textbook because he was unable to concentrate on the English homework sprawled out on top of his desk. His mind was elsewhere. He had been worried all day about y/n and was wondering how she was doing since he never got to see her after Aizawa had dropped him and Bakugo off at their houses last night.
Speaking of Bakugo, Todoroki's eyes shiftily roamed behind his back over to his direction. Todoroki's eyes narrowed in suspicion, taking particular notice of how the explosive ash blonde's face was buried in his Math textbook.
Sure, it wasn't unusual for Bakugo to finish his homework early and correctly but today his hand seemed to be jotting down answers at a million miles per hour. His face was set in a neutral scowl as he exerted the extra effort to continue at his speedy pace. Only his crimson eyes glancing up at the clock at the front of the classroom every few minutes or so would break his stride. In fact, Bakugo had been so wrapped up and focused on completing his assignments that he didn't even notice the looming mismatched eyes that were drilling into him.
It couldn't have been more than five minutes when Todoroki's forehead puckered due to spotting a triumphant grin that perked up on Bakugo's face. Todoroki's eyebrow raised, watching curiously as Bakugo's arm shot straight up into the air.
"Oi, Teach!"
Aizawa lifted his head from the teacher's desk, a groggy expression on his face.
"What is it, Bakugo?" Slight annoyance resonated in the Erasure Hero's tone.
"I finished all my assignments. Can I leave early?" Impatience was heard from the spiky haired boy, who was tapping his fingers on his desk and bouncing his leg up and down.
Aizawa knew the purpose of the boy's sudden urge to leave class early. He was reluctant to agree, having second thoughts if he should really be allowing the teenage male to be alone with y/n at the house for so long...but he gave the greenlight anyways, convinced nothing would happen between the two teenagers since y/n was sick. Plus, he had an ace up his sleeve to stop anything from going down between the two...
As soon as Bakugo got the nod of approval, he quickly snatched everything off his desk and haphazardly stuffed all his things into his backpack. He didn't even think twice, not looking back and ignoring the eyes of his classmates as he slung his backpack over his shoulder, taking long-legged strides towards the door. He couldn't help but momentarily stop at Midoriya's desk as he passed by though, startling and striking fear in the fluffy green haired boy's heart. Bakugo kicked the side of the greenette's chair on his way out, making Midoriya yelp and slide in his chair as Bakugo growled an insult.
"Shitty nerd. Stay out of my way."
"Kacchan..." Midoriya mumbled with a down cast brow.
He wasn't even close or sticking out to have been in Bakugo's way.
Todoroki's eyes followed the ash blonde's back until he was out of the classroom then wordlessly raised his hand.
"Yes, Todoroki...?" Aizawa sighed, eyes shifting from the now empty doorway to the composed looking bi-colored boy.
"I finished my work too. May I also leave early?" Todoroki's concealed his inner anxiousness with a mask of blandness, and the others in the class stared at him the same way they had with Bakugo.
