Without so much as saying a word, Bakugo dropped your wrists after hearing your reply and got off you.
After you got up and dusted yourself off, you saw that his back was facing you so you couldn't see his reaction.
He was just standing there in brooding silence for a little while, shoulders slightly slumped.
You didn't even know you were holding your breath until you exhaled when he finally spoke up.
"But you also like that half and half bastard too, right?"
Your ears went straight up, brows lifting at the sudden question, his voice surprisingly more quiet than usual.
"Yes." You admitted, e/c eyes facing downwards towards the ground. "But-" You began, trying to gather your thoughts, but Bakugo cut you off when he pivoted around, his eyes glowering at you.
"So, tell me, how the hell do you like two people at once?!" The harshness of his tone was enough to make you wince.
"I-I don't know."
"You. Don't. Know."
"Y-Yeah, so until I figure things out...I want us to stay as friends-"
The moment those words came out of your mouth, Bakugo roughly spun around again so you couldn't see his face.
FRIENDS? FRIENDS...?! WHAT. THE. ACTUAL. FUCK. Bakugo thought, his entire being heating up with rage.
Smoke metaphorically came out from his ears and literally from his palms.
If cat girl wants to be friends...I'LL BE THE BEST FUCKING 'FRIEND' SHE EVER HAD. He dragged his hand down his face, wanting to claw his own face off in frustration. I'LL BECOME SO CLOSE TO Y/N THAT SHE'LL HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO PICK ME OVER THAT STUPID ICYHOT BASTARD. He clicked his tongue, there was no way he in hell he was going to lose his girl to the damned popsicle reject.
The thought itself made his blood boil and his vision blurry, all he could see in front of him was red.
He was going to be #1 in her heart. It was the first time since coming to U.A. that he had a goal in mind, besides becoming the #1 Hero, that is.

You stared at Bakugo's back, curious to know what he was thinking. You tilted your head to the side with pinched lips once you saw the smoke dissipate from his hands.
"Just shut up. I don't care what you have to say."
You watched his hand ball into a tight fist before he addressed you again.
"Are you still justfriends with him?"
Here Bakugo was for the first time, scared of being rejected. Scared of being second...scared of not being first place in your heart. Scaredover you, a dumb girl who's head he could see past when standing straight (minus the ears) and who he had to tilt his head down at just to see for fuck's sake.
