Chapter Fifty-Four
Ariel: How about we hang out on Thursday?
Reggie: Okay sure.
I felt so horrible for blowing him off like that to go hang out with my ex-boyfriend. At first, I'd considered hanging out with him tomorrow but I had to work. Thursday was the only day I could think of and it was the day before the party where I'd tell him. I wasn't ready for this.
Jane Doe: Another busy day?
Ariel: It's been hectic.
Jane Doe: I'll bet. Are you going home to rest yet?
Ariel: Not exactly.
Jane Doe: Then what are you doing?
Ariel: You don't know?
Jane Doe: I told you I'd stop following you and watching you so really I don't know.
Ariel: Oh okay.
Jane Doe: So then what are you doing if you don't mind me asking.
Ariel: I don't I'm hanging out with Miles today.
Jane Doe: Miles? Your ex-boyfriend?
Ariel: Yes.
Jane Doe: Are you sure thats a wise idea?
Ariel: I hope so. I know it brings up old feelings but at the same time, I want to hang out with him and find out what's going on between us.
Jane Doe: What do you think is going on?
Ariel: I don't know but I'm starting to think he still cares for me in some way.
Jane Doe: Who knows? Perhaps he does.
Ariel: I know he loves his girlfriend but I heard them arguing in the hallway when I came back from the bathroom.
Jane Doe: Really?
Ariel: Yeah and they were arguing about me and Melinda. She felt like he might be paying too much attention to me.
Jane Doe: If he's smart he would be.
Ariel: No if he were smart he'd stay with Lita.
Jane Doe: You think he belongs with her?
Ariel: Unfortunately yes.
Jane Doe: What about Zayn? Does he belong with Melinda?
Ariel: He probably does.
Jane Doe: Why do you think that?
Ariel: He loves her just like Miles loves Melinda. That's just how it is.
Jane Doe: You don't love Reggie?
Ariel: I love him as a friend only.
Jane Doe: You're still going to tell him?
Ariel: Yes. I have no choice.
"Are you going to stay home today?" Liam asked breaking me from reading his messages.
"No, I'm actually going to go hang out with someone."
"Oh okay, who? Reggie?"
"No, I'm not hanging out with him until Thursday."
"Okay cool then who are you hanging out with?"
"Miles."
"Again?"
